I really enjoyed the Trailer. Cary Fukunaga's involvement has me even more excited.

I think his credit is solely a screenplay credit... which probably got reworked from when he was involved.

I didn't follow the film's progress previously, so this is all news to me now.

The book is very important to me in a way as it was one of the first books I read as a kid and it had such an impact on me - here's one for your, I wish the paper boat was made from newspaper...anyone feel me on this
Didn't care for that mini-series released years ago either - thought it was pretty bad.
With that said - this looks fantastic and I'm very excited.

The first “It” trailer scared the bejeezus out of nearly everyone on the planet when it dropped on Wednesday. It also broke all online global traffic records with 197 million views in the first 24 hours since its debut at CinemaCon.
This means that the trailer broke the previous record held by “The Fate of the Furious” trailer, which scored 139 million views in the first 24 hours. And by the 36th hour since its release, the “It” trailer has hit a staggering 246 million views.

Bigly impressive. I'm sure this'll set a new Labor Day record and usher in shooting on the sequel almost immediately.
I think this is hitting at the perfect time, combining nostalgia with older fans' yearning to see a better version of the book, and for the younger gen nothing seems to get them more freaked out than a clown.
I see this doing $40-50mm OW, maybe even clearing $100mm domestic if reviews are solid.

Sorry -- I laughed my ass off when Georgie ran headfirst into the barricade. Then the jumpscare got me even though I knew it was coming.
Trailer looked damned good.
I'm wondering if they will intercut the two movies as a bonus on home video? I'm sure there will be a fan edit, but it wouldn't quite work right unless they actually plan for it during production.

I went down the rabbit hole of looking at reaction videos for the trailer yesterday. Some of the reactions are awesome.
I really wish they would go ahead and get started on filming the second one. Hopefully the positive reaction to the trailer will light a fire under someone at the studio.

I was of the perfect age to be scared shitless by Tim Curry in the miniseries. My folks recorded the first part the night it aired and played it for me when I got home from kindergarten the next day. My dad thought Pennywise was hilarious and that I would get a kick out of watching it. How does that not qualify as some form of child abuse? No kid should have this image seared into their psyche as they lay down to sleep at night:

Here's a trailer with a bunch of doofy-looking kids being chased by a creepy clown in the 1980s.
This is perfect timing.

Wow. I wonder if Warner had them take it down. It talked about the original script that leaked. Maybe that's why.
Edit: I can still see it, so I copied and pasted the article. Spoiler for length.

It kind of concerns me that the studio pushed for a more generic, conventional movie. We have no idea of Fukunaga's version would have been great or not but studio meddling is worrisome and makes me think we're just going to get a mediocre, run of the mill horror movie...despite the impressive trailer.

The best horror movies are the unexpected ones. I haven't really been frightened by any horror movies since those Japanese and Korean ones in the early 2000's. And even those are a joke by now. Maybe Sinister. It's akin to the diminishing returns of a roller coaster. James Wan's Insidious and The Conjuring work mostly because they're built around good drama - but don't leave me thinking about the scares long after the movie is over.
