While Farscape certainly has its moments, it can't hold a candle to Firefly.

The first four pages of the comic, Serenity #2:

And that's an informed opinion based on seeing every episode of Firefly, right?

According to my friend who works at the theater that has held all the Vegas screenings of Serenity, Universal cancelled a screening there that would've taken place at the end of July. He doesn't know if it was the Serenity screening or screenings for either The 40 Year Old Virgin or The Skeleton Key (both Universal pictures that debut in early August).
But for the fact that no information has come about for a late July screening, I would assume it would be the Serenity screening.
That is unless Universal has put everything on lock down involving the July screening? Meaning all theaters/Fandango/Movie Tickets will go live at a specific time that will be announced shortly (we hope), unlike how a few cities sold out before anything was even announced with the 6-23 screenings...

So, I'm assuming everyone ran out to their favorite local comic book store today and picked up all three versions of Serenity #1?
I loved the comic and look forward to having some of those in-between questions answered, although...wow, the Serenity action figures advertised in the very back look several shades of awful.

That last one of Mal looks like he is about ready to piss himself or something. I wish they were better looking, but I am sure I will end up with them anyway.

Is it believed that there will be more screenings before the September release?

However, a heavily pushed sneak preview a week or two before it's release could help build the word of mouth on the flick before it's release.

Speaking of the comic book, I went to one of the few local comic stores in our area to pick up Serenity. There were exactly two left on the shelve of the 45 the store owner said he ordered. He's had to put a reorder in on issue #1 and increasing his order for issue #2.

Consider yourself lucky to get that. Everyone sold out around here just hours after they were put on the shelf. I had to order it online.

I had to go into town to nab a couple of issues of Serenity #1 (both with the John Cassaday cover of Mal), which was a good 40 miles round-trip for me, but I know this book will be scarce in the short term, plus, I needed the break at work too.

Dumb question: what sort of stores would be likely to carry the Serenity comic books? I haven't the faintest idea where to look. Would a chain like Hastings have them? Wal-mart? Store choices in small-town America are rather limited. And the nearest medium size city is 95 miles away for me.
How about on-line, what sort of stores sell them? I
Edit: A Google search came up with an on-line outfit called tfaw.com that sells them.

A special screening of an unfinished version of Serenity will take place in San Diego on Saturday, July 16th at 10 PM. This preview screening is available to Comic Con attendees only and seats are extremely limited. The only way to attend this special screening is to pick up a screening pass at the Southern California Browncoats table in the Comic Con Exhibit Hall (table A11-A12), on Saturday, July 16th beginning at 10:30 AM. Passes will be handed out on a first come, first served basis - ONLY ONE PASS PER PERSON!

Too bad if I can't stay in SDCC otherwise I'd try and see Serenity again...hopefully I can snag one of those posters if they are be handed out.
I also picked up two copies of the comic book, one with Mal, the other with Jayne. My comic book store had about 10 issues left. LMK if anyone needs any.
