The wait to see this movie is killing me. The only other movies i have ever anticipated even close to this amount were the 2nd and 3rd Lord of the Rings. I'm kind of glad i missed the advance screenings though, that way my first time seeing it will be the finished product.

POSTER IS SICKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!

Matthew, is this the official poster???

If so where did you get it, I need to cop.

I thought the MPAA didn't like the "teen with a gun pose"

If this is the official poster or teaser it will be copped!

More info on this please

Thanks!!

That was just a sneak peek at the poster off of one of the Serenity sites. I don't think you can get one quite yet.

Just saw the new trailer on Sci-Fi. Probably a SciFi screw up, but it was anamorphic widescreen which is odd on a 4x3 or letterboxed channel. Not that I was complaining. Just switched to Full and enjoyed.

Yeah, I thought it was odd that they broadcast it that way. I've got a 4:3 television that has a 16:9 mode, so I was fumbling with the remote to hit the button to switch it.

The Captain's take on the new poster, from the Browncoats site...

Morning. Just looking at the thread of people complaining about the poster. I like it. I love it. Honestly, I don't know where some of these folks get their ideas about what's good or bad. Or the "expert opinions" they get to confirm their stand. I love it.
Be well, all. 73 days till Serenity. I can't wait! Everybody go see it and have a great time! Except the people that don't like the poster. That'll teach Universal for putting up a poster that is too conventional, too Hollywood, too revolting, and doesn't tell you anything about the movie except for who's in it, that it's sci fi, action, and it has something to do with a target, an assasin, a rebel, a fugitive, a code, spaceships, guns, and a firefly. Curse them for leaving you in the dark!
heh.
oooo, good one, Nate. Burn. But maybe you should have left this one alone. Don't you have a policy about biting your internet tongue?
Yeah, but I had to go for the funny.
But you know how some of these internet types can get. You know they're gonna whinge about this. Holy soap box, Batman.
Did you hear me? I said, "...go for the funny."
Funny like throwing gas on a fire funny.
Yeah. Heh. THAT kind of funny. Heh.

We're not allowed to have our opinions about what's good and what's bad?

On the new trailer, much like the first one, I think there are some parts that are truly awesome (as a fan of Firefly), but I still get the sense that some parts will play as pretty cheesy/lame to the general non-Firefly audience.

And he's not allowed to have his? (I don't think he's telling people they can't have their opinions, just that those opinions are teh suck IHO). Just because you're a television (soon to be movie) star doesn't mean you can't get down and dirty with some senseless Internet arguing.

An interview with Joss Whedon on In Focus magazine. He talks about Serenity, Toy Story, Alien Resurrection, Wonder Woman, X3, Speed, and future TV projects.

I'm pretty sure it is! I really don't care about Battlestar Galactica, but I really want the disc! Damn Best Buy!

If you go to an AMC Theater, their version of Regal's "The Twenty" (we don't have an AMC in Vegas) is playing a five-minute featurette on Serenity which is a "quicker paced" version of the bonus DVD included with the BSG set. Includes interviews with the cast and crews and some of the reactions from the pre-screenings.

I asked my comic shop to hold all three for me, but they only held one. So now I've got to go hunting for the other two! (there are three other stores I can check out yet)

I went to my local comic book store early just to snag a copy of Serenity #2 (else I'd be stuck having to drive downtown to get a copy of the issue), and I decided on the Kaylee cover, just not into buying multiple copies for different covers anymore.

I totally agree with the multiple covers, I gave that up long ago. But for Serenity, it's different.

Man, I forgot this was coming out. Now it seems all but issue #3 is not for sale anymore. Crapola. I guess I'll have to wait for the TPB.
