I'm not going to the theater just to see a trailer. Ridiculous. I'll wat a day or two until it's released online.

I have been considering making Snake Eyes my first movie back in the theater this weekend, and it's playing in IMAX. I wonder if the trailer will be there.
Dune is the movie I'm most excited for this year. And last year.

It doesn’t sound like the new trailer will be playing in front of other IMAX screenings… yet. This is some special thing where you’d need free tickets:

I really hope the Delta variant isn't kicking our asses in October, I will absolutely go to the theater for this otherwise.

He's arguably very out of place in a quote-unquote "serious*" film, but so was Bautista in BR2049, and he turned out great in that.

If not the Delta, then possibly the up and coming Lambda variant that’s now starting to show up. Either way, things won’t get better by then. Glad HBO Max will make it available.

Thankfully he was in it for 5 minutes. Duncan Idaho is a bit more in-depth of a character. I like Bautista, but it was an odd addition to 2049. Here’s to hoping Aquaman will fit a bit better in this one.

Wish I could argue with that, but I really can't. I honestly wish there was a way this could open with almost zero competition as it needs it. Hell, I would almost recommend it move again because it's opening against the new JackAss. Granted, the audiences for these movies are totally different, but if you want engage adult males in middle America, that's legit competition.

They still haven’t green-lighted part 2 of a planned 2 part series, correct?
This is one of my most anticipated movies in years. It’ll be a huge kick in the balls if this underperforms at the B.O. and no conclusion is ever filmed.

Especially this turns out to be the one time they got it right. That's what's sad. This could please both book fans and film critics and still be a massive failure with the public outside of sci fi geeks.

If it happens, Part 2 seems destined to be straight to Max movie or event series, IMO.

I’m trying to stay positive about it but in this day and age if the entire series isn’t filmed at once I get nervous.

I have like zero ties and barely remember original. I love Villeneuve. From his first in which he got noticed with Prisoners. Loved that one. Arrival, Sicario, BR2049 all great. Didn’t love Enemy, but definitely got to give another try. And I’ve heard, though I think much much smaller, but highly acclaimed Incendies (is there a Blu or digital for this one?). The guy has been absolutely stellar thus far imo. So, I look forward to whatever this space odyssey is about and his take on, which I’m sure is phenomenal.

I generally wait for things to come to streaming, having to find childcare and all that, but will do my best to see this in the theater simply to help get part 2 made.

Really excited. When I see the trailers, I don't see anything missing from the first book. Maybe the fight with Sting Feyd, but otherwise it looks like it's all there. Why do we think this is only part of the book again?

I’m not going to harbor some fanboy excitement over this. I’m way more interested in seeing a good big budget adaptation of the story. Hopefully we’ll have it with this one. Or rather, half the story if this is indeed only half of the book.
