Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters

Been buying these since 08. Do not buy these (Nightmare, Scream) at the inflated prices. Wait six months and you will be able to get them near cost. Today, over half are sold to flippers. It is all hype now.

You don't need a gift card to score these. I never use them. So you bought a gift card and missed out. Quit crying, go buy a couple cool shirts, or just try again the next time they release a print that you think is cool.

I always use PayPal with Mondo. Less likely to screw that up than a credit card.

Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters

I thought I'd be really bummed about not being in Austin once I found out the mystery movie, but not really. I'm not an anime fan at all, so I would have only bought the Akira poster to resell/trade.

Nice poster, but just not my thing.

That Akira poster is awesome. Too bad no one outside of the Austin area can get their hands on one (unless you want to pay a kings ransom on eBay).

Got the Akira poster last night, it looks fantastic. Good news for non-Austinites: Justin of Mondo said that they are going to be different events like this in different cities. :-)

Wish that were true of Stout prints. It was in my cart, the KB variant was in my cart!

Transformers 3 is the next print to come out. That sounds a bit early... I didn't think the movie was that close to coming out.

Yeah, most of his stay up there. FP and that Troll 2 doc print aren't going to be big money prints, but I could have told you that before the drop.

Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters

Picked up the CE3K poster at Mondo tonight after I got done at the Dogfish Head Film Fest.

It's fucking beautiful. Already got it framed.

Sorry, but no Roger Rabbits as of yet.

Other posters included the Star Wars Wookie & Greedo prints, Four Lions... nothing special.

No word on when the Kill Bills will show up... they seemed to have no clue as to when they'd arrive.

Also got another Mondo... the official DFH Off-Centered Film Fest poster... for FREE. LOL. 189/200. Oh and 3 free DFH shirts... and 2 bottle openers. ha.

Anyone have any suggestions where to pick up a flat file? Just at an art store? I'm starting to get annoyed having a bunch of prints in tubes in my closet. I really need a house with more walls

I'd love to hear archival recommendations on this too. I have well over 40 pieces (not just Mondo) on my walls. I'm just out of space. Love to have an easier way of looking at them though.

Well there ya go... Jerry's Artarama. There's one of those right on my way to work in Austin (I-35/290, iirc). I'll check it out tomorrow.

Any chance you can post a pic of your Close Encounters poster? I'd love to see one of those framed.

Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters

Apologize for the poor quality... My iPhone camera kinda sucks and my girlfriend is out of town with the 'real' camera.

That's my HT screen in the reflection. heh.

The detail is where it wins though:

Looks like this weeks print is "Pan's Labyrinth" by Aaron Horkey. They are selling it tonight at a screening of the film and they will be online later in the week.

I will be interested to see that poster. That being said, I am sure it will be released Friday when I work 13 hours so I will have 0 chance of getting it.

I'm not feeling it, either. But neither is my wallet this week, lol. I'll save it for something good that will no doubt come out in May or June.
