Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters

And gone.

Picked up both of them. I have no place to store any 24x36 prints at the moment, but I knew I'd regret skipping the Pinnochio if I did.

Which puts me up to 17 Whalen prints. This dude needs to slow down. For my sake at least.

I picked up Pinocchio, but I passed on The Mad Doctor. This will be my first Whalen since I sent back my damaged Monsters Inc. print.

Count me in as another who liked both a lot, but none fit space/$$$/thematically, so I passed. Congrats to all who got one (or both) who wanted them.

Does Mondo send out shipping notifications?
Their site says they try to get posters out within a week of going on sale. I'm not too worried about that, but when I look at my JP order on the mondotees website, there's a "reorder" link next to "new" (the order status).
Is that normal?

It is normal. They do not send shipping notifications. That "within a week" thing is not the usual in my experience. It seems to vary but I've had some things that have taken multiple weeks to show. (And some that were over a month later.)

Since I have a variant I will pass. Don't mind the colors though.

Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters

I was so excited when I saw the film that was included in the drop email, but then I saw the print. I'm just not a Stout fan or a fan of the movie posters with a bunch of characters on it.

Getting annoyed waiting for my Jurassic Park poster, even though I won't be able to hang it for at least 6 months.

I should probably just keep it stored in the tube it ships in, right?

Unless you have acid free storage stuff and space to store it flat your best bet is to check it out to make sure it's okay and put it right back in the tube until you frame it.

Wow, I wonder if there was a delay with the Trick 'R Treat print. I received my shipment early last week (The Burning/Sleepaway Camp).

God Dammit, I wish I knew about that Assault print. Fuuuuuuuuuck.

Anyone in Austin who might pick up one for me at the Alamo? Pretty pretty please.

EDIT: I can't believe I'm seriously looking at Ebay and $100 for this when it dropped today. Arggh.

FWIW, I recently picked up some clear poly sleeves (acid-free) at www.bagsunlimited.com. Prices seem reasonable and I'm happy with the quality.

I have them too, they're great for holding posters/prints until I get around to getting frames.

Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters

You people are monsters - I didn't need more ideas! So, I have 30 or so pieces framed and on my wall, and may have around twice that waiting on money to frame or wall space of both. I really like the idea of the wall mount display, but I'm not sure that I have the room unless I take down a piece or two. Does anyone have the wall mount display? Pro's and cons? What about the floor poster displays? Thanks in advance.

Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters

Got my nakatomi tube. While I didn't get any Mondo prints, I did get a logan's run print, a Big Lebowski poster and a Blade Runner (I think everyone got that one). I am satisfied with what I got, unlike the last one, maybe putting I prefer movie prints helped.

Nice, what does the Blade Runner poster look like?

NM, I found out there are two BRs you can possibly get.

If you scroll around a few pages people start posting stuff they got.

I got the same exact tube as the guy posted at 3:53. Those BTTF are neat, but I have a Delorean print from them and an original poster hanging so I can live without.

That from dusk til dawn poster is awesome, I have one. The GID is the best.

Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters

It's been awhile, but a print finally dropped that I liked enough to purchase:

Spoiler:

There is a blue variant available as well at TommyGood, but I prefer the orange.

I have slowed way down compared to back in 08-10. Last one I bought was Robocop, prior to that was Frankenstein.
