Ugh, August. Means I won't be able to see it until September, because I'm out of the country all summer. At least X-Men had the good taste to open in May.

Why So Blu?

Yikes. Hated the tone but hated the incongruent choice of music used in it too. This does not look marketable at all. You wouldn't even (and most will not) know it was a Marvel film until the banner is shown.

I'll still see it and probably like it but as someone who is not familiar with the team I do feel it will not set the world on fire. Not this trailer at least. Geeks will love it but everyone else will not know what to make of it.

Yeah, as someone who's not familiar with the source material, I don't know what to make of that.

If this wasn't attached to Marvel and if I didn't know it fed into Age of Ultron, I'd say it looked pretty stupid.

Man, WTF?!?! Dont understand these complaints about not knowing the background of these characters. The trailer introduces the main players and the way trailers are paced these days I'm sure the second one will give up some of the plot. Do you have to be familiar with the source material to enjoy a movie?

Though I was a Marvel comic reader I had no Guardians knowledge except for knowing there was a talking racoon with a gun out there.

I think it looks great. I think the Star Wars comparison is apt - hoping it catches on in a big way. And I remember a lot of doubt about an audience for The Avengers and we all know how that turned out. Can't wait!

Definitely not, and I agree with you that we'll get more info with each trailer (probably too much info at some point). This did a nice job of familiarizing the audience with the characters - which was the main goal with this I'm guessing.

Liked the introduction of each character, but didn't like that musical cue and the rest of it. Wish they gave a little more about what the group is doing to sum up after the character introductions.

The marketing team has balls because this trailer isn't selling anyone who isn't already aware of the movie. Don't get me wrong, it looks fun and I can't wait to see it...but I'm not who they should be going after. I expected a more mainstream Star Wars approach... not so here... and I'm not expecting the movie to be like that...it probably is just what we have here in the trailer...but to market it like that is another question.

Not knowing anything about the Guardians other than the names Starlord and Rocket Raccoon from my comics days, this trailer has me more fired up than I even expected.

It's time for a lighthearted space movie like this. The tone seems so off the beaten path and I love it! Can't wait to see more.

True that, which is why I I'm not expecting it to do Avengers-like business. Hell, a friend of mine said that this will probably do about Captain America business and even then (personally) is a bit stretching it.

Then again, maybe this trailer was for the geeks and trailer 2 will be for everyone else? August is far away.

someone on my facebook posted the trailer from Jimmy Kimmel Live's youtube page. It took me a good 45 seconds to realize it wasn't one of Jimmy Kimmel's spoof videos. It looks just awful. I have no desire to see it whatsoever.

Awesome. Loved it, completely different than what we are used to seeing from Marvel. Feels like a mishmash of Farscape/5th Element/Star Wars. As a intro/teaser it works great setting up the characters

Next trailer I want more collector/Ronan. Also want more raccoon talking and groot saying groot
