It's always cool seeing your grandfather hot rod down the streets in his '67 GTO.

The PT fans are now arguing that if JJ Abrams would have used CGI then Harrison Ford would have never broken his ankle.

One idiot posted on another SW message board, "Maybe George Lucas was right all along to use CGI, as now we see what happens to actors when they use Real Sets and Practical Effects!"

They should just move the release to May 2016 and be done with it. You get your extra time for Ford to heal and remove any threat of not finishing things the right away. I don't know what else is scheduled for May 2016 (I assume a Marvel film of some sort is), but I can't believe this wouldn't crush anything competing with it.

Currently Batman v Superman and Captain America 3 are both set for May 2016. And pretty sure Disney doesn't want Star Wars to crush Cap, since they're both Disney productions.

Disney has planned its entire fiscal year around the release of Star Wars. I doubt it gets moved.

There's no way this movie slips one day... unless Abrams bites the big one (and even then).

In what context? That sounds like something I would post.

I think they should just shut the whole production down at this point. Why risk anyone else getting injured? Luckily JJ didn't script any scenes that needed to shoot near train tracks.

I wonder if Ford's injury would prevent him from any future Indiana Jones movies.

I wonder if George sent an email to JJ saying something like "...and that's why you use green screen."

I also wonder if he got an email from Billy Dee saying "I'm available, you know."

Eight weeks is a long time to be out, but the story does say "up to eight weeks," which probably means he'll be back in six. I'm guessing re-shoots were factored in to the time table already, so this shouldn't prove too daunting. It might affect Han Solo's involvement in the story, which will be the biggest disappointment - word was he was pretty much one of the leads in this thing. Then again, that might mean Luke playing a more prominent role now.

If this were set for release in Dec 2015 then it'd be a concern, but it's more than two years away, plenty of time.

This can be something else they can tie the PT with. Han in the hover wheelchair like Gimpy McGimp had in AOTC.

It was from a PT Gusher on TFN who defends the PT on EVERYTHING, so it wasn't sarcasm. I actually agree with you it would be funny if they actually meant it to be funny, but they were dead serious.

This person who posted it has been railing against Practical Effects and Real Sets since Episode 7 was announced. He or she also is offended that the ST is being made and only looks at it as an 'add on' to the SW saga, because the 'Tragedy of Darth Vader 1-6' is the real Saga. He or she is also offended that they are doing so many OT tie-ins in the ST, and have totally disregarded the PT, not realizing that the ST comes after the OT, so hence it would more resemble it!

I was thinking of Admiral Pike at the end of Star Trek 2009, but that'll work too.

And his name was Cliegg Lars.

If I hadn't been entirely scared off by the excessively creepy thread on Daisy Ridley over there, this would have driven me from the site. Good grief.

My Goodness, I don't know what to say about the PT versus the OT versus the ST, but I do know my FH hurts from reading all these FAs, and my FH feels like it's going to BTFU!

I could see it going like this:
JJ: Please, Harry. Just let the stuntman do the work here.
HF: No, come on. I still can run. Let's go.
....
HF: Uh, I think I broke my ankle.
JJ: *turns and throws hands up in air*

Seriously, I think it's the long boots. Looks slippery and hard to run in.

What really worries me is that, with 'ST' now the unofficial acronym for the new trilogy, we have the PT, the OT, and the ST. If you remove the "trilogy" from each of those, you are left with the

P O S

I have a bad feeling about this.
