Fuck Boba Fett. Seriously. He was a cool secondary character. Centering an entire film around him is a terrible idea.

I think he's fantastic too, but I don't think he'd be right for Solo. But I'd like to see him involved in some capacity. He could be a good younger Jedi in the new trilogy.

After how horrible the prequels looked, I really hope they give it a grittier look (not content, just look), everything in the prequels looked too... clean. (You notice crap like this when you're bored out of your mind.)

I loved the look of the prequels, especially Episode III.

The more I think about a young Han Solo movie. The more I don't want it to happen.

You do realize that he is only around two years younger now than Ford was when Star Wars was filmed, right? Not exactly "young Han Solo" material, if you ask me. If you want a young Han Solo, I would think you would want someone in his early-to-mid twenties.

Has anything like this ever worked? Take a film or film franchise. Establish a great character that becomes an actors signature role. Then try telling his backstory by making a new film and casting a new actor in his or her role.
Hannibal Rising was a colossal pile of shit.
Star Wars Prequels were garbage.
Maybe Oz: The Great and Powerful won't be terrible.

Well, if they get one of the greatest directors of all time and one of the greatest actors of all time, both working at the height of their abilities, like those two did on GFII, then maybe they can have something that works. Somehow I doubt that will happen.

At the same points in their careers, I daresay that Abrams and JGL have accomplished more than Coppola and Deniro. The Godfather II put both of them into superstardom though. So you just never know.

It helped that there was decades between the age of the character, you accepted them as the same person. In this case we're probably talking only a 5-10yr difference in age.... the actor would have to essentially look and act very close to Ford for us to even begin to buy into it. Highly unlikely it could be pulled off imo...

After The Godfather, that put Coppola over 99% of people in Hollywood, at least in terms of industry clout, so he would certainly be above Abrams at that point in his career. People were telling him he could do whatever the hell he wanted for the next 20 years.

For a Han Solo prequel to even work, he can't even be that "young", since it just wouldn't be interesting. It would be like that lame flashback in Last Crusade where Indy picks up all his defining characteristics in one afternoon.

Ha ha. I never really thought of it that way before, but you're right. He got his scar, hat and phobia of snakes all in a matter of about 20 minutes. That's funny.
