Only redeeming factor about that film is Soledad Miranda <3

The Loved Ones (2009):
Felt like a super demented John Hughes film. Bleak as fuck.

From Here to Eternity

Can't believe I'd never given this one a shot before...Lancaster, Clift and Sinatra are amazing. Loved every second of it.

Cosmopolis

Looper

Cosmopolis was a trip! Gotta scoop up some Don Delillo books and see what his written word has to offer.

Django (1966): Always a joy revisiting this film. Love everything about it, including the final scene & shot.

Re: Last movie you watched

Chungking Express-I think this was my first Wong Kar Wai film and it was pretty good. It definitely captured the loneliness one feels after they break up with someone. I didn't even know this movie was two seperate stories until watching it. Liked the second story more and now have "California Dreaming" stuck in my head. Also Dreams by The Cranberries. It was weird to hear Dreams here since I had seen The Sound of My Voice just last week and that song plays a role in one of the best scenes of that movie.

Looper - We had to miss this in the theaters, much to my dismay, but it was very much worth the wait for the BD.

Jack Reacher - Okay crime thriller. Nothing really new covered in this movie. Saw it for free with a free movie pass I earned from Regal Cinemas.

Minority Report (on Blu) - Love the movie, but my 14 year old son hadn't seen it yet. He really liked it and it still holds up great.

Lincoln (2012): Enjoyed Daniel Day Lewis' performance as well as the rest of the cast, but I thought the film's script was a bit dull.

Premium Rush - Intentionally bad in a good way, pretty entertaining B flick with Michael Shannon hamming it up to 11.

Arthur Christmas - Decent family Christmas flick, seemed to run long despite only being 90 minutes.

Re: Last movie you watched

Inspired by the Tarantino interview in the current issue of Video Watchdog, I watched Sergio Corbucci's NAVAJO JOE (1966) over the weekend on the Western Channel. Tarantino hypes it beyond belief and describes it as "before THE WILD BUNCH, the most violent movie to ever have an American studio logo at the front." (It was a United Artists release.)

Well, it's a perfectly enjoyable Italian western, but it's not even among Corbucci's best and it doesn't seem all that more violent than most Italian westerns. Tarantino does engage in hyperbole, doesn't he?

Re: Last movie you watched

The Guilt Trip - wasn't expecting much, but it was a nice little, sentimental Mother's Day type movie.

The Hobbit (2D) - crappy theater I went to had terrible sound. The center sound audio for dialog was low so it was a strain to hear what they said. Kind of what I expected. Tho at the end I wanted Dirk the Daring to show up and face Smaug.

Zombieland

On "End of the World Day." The first time I watched it, I only got halfway through before the power went out. Only fitting I finish it with only hours before the real apocalypse hit. Loved the movie. Slightly disappointed to find no zombies on the streets the next morning.

Conan the Barbarian

Arnold says so little, but that just proves how well he can carry a film on his charisma alone. I love the shit out of this movie. The fight at the ruins near the end is just bliss. "Crom... grant me revenge!" Poledouris' score is exquisite.
