the bottom line. Friendships don't make great movies.
Great writers, directors, casts, and crews make great movies. Specifically... the writers and directors part. But more importantly the director.
We've seen questionable scripts directed the fuck out of to make damn good movies.

I wasn't complaining. I responded to a comment with an opinion and it got blown out of proportion.

Some of the greatest movies ever made have had troubled productions with strife and turmoil experienced off-camera. Whether or not the cast has fun really means nothing in regard to the ultimate quality of the movie. When you consider the history of filmmaking, there is very little substance to that argument, except for providing another shallow talking point in the DC vs. Marvel discussion.
Secondly, its true that some of the greatest movies in history have had turmoil in their production. But you what......many of the worst movies, and probably more so than great movies, have had productions with cast and crew who simply see it as a job and are not emotionally invested. Hell most Bruce Willis films these days have the guy sleepwalking through the role, and i could say the same thing about many actors and actresses. The fact that this cast seems to actually enjoy acting off one another i imagine makes for a fun workplace. And in fact i have a couple of friends who are stuntmen in South Africa and they can back up what i am saying.
So yes, i agree that just because a cast and crew get along and has a fun time does no mean it will be a sure fire hit, but if you read my initial point it said that it will only help the chances of a movies success.
Class dismissed.

Okay, so to summarize, it's not the sole factor, but it might be a contributing factor in cases where cast members become friends and the film happens to turn out well. However, it's not a contributing factor in cases where cast members get along, but the final film isn't well received, like Batman V. Superman.. or cases where cast members did not get along, but the final film turned out well.
Not might...it IS a factor that will help in a final product. Just like any work that people enjoy doing, it will probably turn out better than being done by someone who hates the job.
And throwing out 3 stills from BvS (one of which does not show the two primaries really doing anything other than talking....wow....shocker, directors and actors talk to one another. Shit Marvel get it together, WB are way ahead of you here. You NEVER talk with your actors or directors). The only clip you could probably show of any jovial banter by the characters in these movies is the Kimmel skit (which was funny for all of 5 seconds).
Didnt you read the last part of what i wrote about the fact that WB is failing to get good writing and directing talent and that some of its casting choices have actually been good?
Class again dismissed......until you decide to come back with some teenage DC fanboy shit. I want to make it clear, i am actually a supporter of both DC and Marvel, i just want DC to make better decisions and take more time with their properties. In the long run i would rather see great movies from them than mediocre ones.

But again. It doesn't.
People liking each other does not get one closer to success. It just makes a better environment to work in. You either make the road smoother to get to the end or make it bumpy as fuck. Either way... the end result should be the end result... typically. Very rarely does the personal world of emotion actually throw itself onto a production to affect it in way that it is so close to its endgame.
The end result, stereotypically or even a bit loosely, should have been stamped in before people were on a set. There's a goal. People have to reach that regardless.

When an actor is enjoying working on a set and with the cast and crew i would say there is a damn good chance that they will give more to a performance than when they are hating working on a set and despise the people around them. I never once said that it is a sole factor in a movies success, my original point was that it certainly can't be anything but positive for a movies chances. You seem to feel otherwise. For example actors who are not enjoying their job or being around cast and crew probably means more takes for shots due to them not giving a shit and directors having problems getting them to do what they want, or maybe they give a hard time to the other actors on set and throw them off their game and again more takes. Or maybe the end of filming shows that the performances are simply not coming across due to disgruntled actors and they are then forced to do re-shoots, or even recast a part due to it simply not working. More time, more costs and a higher limit to hit in order to make a profit.
But you would have us think that none of things play any element in the success of a movie to any degree what so ever.
I don't get why this is getting blown out of proportion? I made a comment on the onset friendship that seems apparent on Marvel movies by way of the interviews and promotional stuff they kick out into the world, then make a comment about DC needing to hire better directors and writers and people make a mountain out of a mole hill.

As someone who didn't read the comics, can someone ever so briefly explain why these idiots are fighting each other, what is this "Civil War" all about?

Think of it as gun control, and super-powered people as guns. Some people want them to be registered and taken into account, others don't, and want more freedom.

After a large explosion, caused by some lesser known superheroes and villians fighting, kills a large number of people, many, including the federal government, call for the registration of superheroes. Iron Man and his side want all of the heroes registered and actually "employed" by the governement, akin to law enforcement. This would necessitate the reavealing of secret identities. Cap and his side are against the registration. I guess that about sums it up without giving too much away.

The heroes have run around w/o any regulation on them and who they answer to based on the mess such situations leave behind. That's the setup on this one w/ a Winter Soldier thrown in to make it a bit more complex for Cap. Damn you, Bucky. Why'd you have to be the monkey wrench in all this?
