I noticed the voice too, sounded like a young girl. But meh im ok with it, not all powerful characters have to have deep voices that match their grandeur

Brie Larson needs to have more bass in her voice.

To be fair, this is the 1st time we've seen the Captain Marvel character portrayed as a live action character. And for most, she's a fairly unknown character. I never heard of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel until Marvel announced Brie was cast as her.

Probably by December we'll get another trailer with a little more meat to it. But for what this was: a short teaser, it was fine and IMO did it's job.

I have no issues with Brie as lead... but having no background of the character, the trailer did nothing for me other than to show that she may have been abducted from Earth and grew up on another planet. So that said, I'm "meh" on the premise and this feels like a forced Marvel character.

A few years ago I would’ve SO agreed with that. I’m pretty sure she was my preference when everyone was talking about Katee Sackoff.

Regardless, it can’t be denied that signing on an Academy Award winning actress to star was a big get for Marvel.

I will admit I know nothing about the character... but Brie doesn't scream confidence or badass... maybe that's in line with the character? I dunno.

I don't think that matters much these days, though, and certainly not to the demo they're targeting.

Marvel could put anyone with the right talent into one of these roles and make them a household name overnight. The studio doesn't need a "big get" for their characters because, as we all know by now, these films sell themselves.

But it gets them to legitimatize their films as semi-serious works and not as goofy or campy, especially with the new category for the academy.

I think Larson is doing fine with what I've seen so far. Having read some of the comics, she seems in line with the character. Captain Marvel is a strong hero, but she's also got a sense of sarcasm and childishness about her, so I never really envisioned her with a deep voice.
