After what this grossed expect as a minimum a single long feature films to close out the storyline. Maybe more than one even.

I fucking hope not. It started on tv, it should end on tv. If they do decide to make a real feature film it should be about Robert's Rebellion or Aegon the Conqueror.

I'm surprised AMC hasn't clamped down on that.

I assume that the AMC theater chain and TV channel have the same owners? If so, it'd be pretty obvious marketing.

AMC the channel and AMC the theater chain have no relation that I am aware of.

Oh. My mistake then .

The pilot of TWD is one of the most cinematic things I've ever seen on TV. Hey, if it gets more viewers and sells more Super 16 film stock, I'm OK with it getting released theatrically . As for the rest of the show, I don't think it looks as drab and flat as some TV, but I wouldn't really describe it as cinematic. It has a very rough feel, but it's obviously designed for the small screen. That said, fans would almost certainly turn out to see episodes on the big screen, so it might be good for business.

AMC theaters = American Multi-Cinema
AMC channel = American Movie Classics [genre now deemphasized]

I saw the first episode of last season in a corporate auditorium (maybe about 30 rows of seats), so smaller than a movie theater but way bigger than my TV. I'd be in for more of that.

It's the same thing as showing it at a bar, as long as the theater is part of the right TV plan they're good. The "Drink Ticket" thing is an age old work around.

Yeah, they've never been affiliated.

Has any theater chain ever been owned by a global conglomerate in the modern era? I'm guessing there'd be some anti-trust or governmental thing if something like that happened.

In the early days of cinema I know Paramount of Fox had their own theaters.
