Emma would work.. she can go from nerdy (Ghosts of Girlfriends Past) to ridiculously hot (Zombieland).

I threw that in there especially for you KillerCannibal.

In all seriousness though, I like the suggestions of the Nard-Dog and Emma Stone.

I'd totally would go for Banks over Stone. She's really good and can really keep up w/ the guys.

Emma Stone actually seems pretty perfect for the role.

Banks is too old. Stone would be good.

Too old? Right now she's the exact age Sigourney Weaver was in the original Ghostbusters. She's even younger than a couple of the guys that people are tossing around.

Elizabeth Banks - 1974
Paul Rudd - 1969
Craig Robinson - 1971
Seth Rogen - 1981
Jason Segel - 1980

Also, Page and Stone are cute, but does anyone really want Ghostbusters: 90210?

no, I agree... but she certainly has an "edge" to her, so she's much more than just a cute 90210 barbiedoll.

I don't care who is in it as long as the script is funny and aimed at adults like the first one is. The first one makes you feel like a kid. The second one treats you like you're one.

Eh. I caught part of the second one on tv awhile back and while it isn't as good as the first one, I found it somewhat entertaining. Of course I used to have the second one on VHS and watched it a lot when I was a kid.

Am I the only one who isn't convinced "passing the torch" is the way to go on this one? I'm not sure the new vanguard of comedy is in anywhere near the league of the old vanguard of comedy. I remain unconvinced The Apatow Gang is the new heirs to the original Ghostbusters team.

No. I'm right there with you. Maybe throw one new guy into the mix, but we don't need a whole new crew.

I'd be cool with a new guy as an intern or whatnot who has to earn his stripes but not replacements for the whole crew.

This is going to be the sickest 3D movie yet! It's gonna make House Party look like House Party 2.

While that would be the ideal scenario, it will never happen.

This is why we've been discussing for the cast of new GBs to take part along w/ the originals. Wouldn't it be neat if they were still in business and that it's actually grown as a business in NYC? Not a franchise but something that keeps them going

To add to the female GB discussion: What about that dude-chick who was on the last couple seasons of Scrubs? She could be an interesting choice.

Good call on Denise from Scrubs.

What about a competing "Ghostbusting" company by young start ups driving the old guys out of business?

If told well that could work, I just have a hard time anybody bettering Egon's work or even making something like the proton pack...but I'm biased towards Egon.

A rival company would be a fantastic idea.

Denise could be their version of Annie Potts personality-wise but a company manager or something instead.

Yeah, that'd be cool. Maybe if whatever method of capturing the ghosts was totally different from the GBs? Different methods and tech?
