I know there’s a ton of new stuff that will have to be filmed for the rest of the story, but we also know there’s a lot of deleted scenes from the first one and I have to wonder if those will be used in any way for this one. Might give him a head start on filming.

I think it has more to do with getting it out of October where people tend to gravitate towards horror movies . I know the first one did well enough in October, but it was a little bit different then, as people were still recovering from the pandemic. A November release places it at the forefront of awards season and the date is also the last regular weekend many people have before the chaos of the holiday period. So I can deal with a few weeks of delay. Sure as hell is better than over a year.

Such a big step down from Virginia Madsen.

I'm sure she'll be given more to do than Madsen, who aside from saying a few lines wasn't on screen more than about three minutes I think. Maybe Pugh will say "A beginning is a very delicate time..." as an homage.

That photo looks like she's not entirely in costume and is a bit blurry.

In the looks department, she's a big step down IMO. As far as acting goes, I've only seen Pugh as her annoying Marvel character with that horrible accent delivering stupid lines, but maybe she's better in other stuff?

Probably every actor in a Marvel film has better material in their other projects.

IMO, Pugh is better in looks, which really doesn't matter.

I take it you never saw Midsommar.

Lady Macbeth, Fighting With My Family, The Little Drummer Girl, Outlaw King, Midsommar, Little Women... all great performances.

This is a pretty narrow minded observation. As dex14 pointed out, she has a pretty substantial body of work as an actress.

Every time I think of watching Midsommar, I see that it's around 2.5 and pick something shorter to watch.

Totally worth the watch. Doesn't feel slow or overly long. It's a horror masterpiece.

The 3-hour director’s cut is even better.

You don't deserve Midsommar.

If you aren't willing to invest the time (or thought the movie Heriditary sucked) in a slow burn horror, then you really shouldn't be owning something like this in the first place. I have a feeling you have a pre-determination not to like it anyway so you can be contrary to the popular opinion, kind of like a libertarian.
