Make this time the 1001st. It does need to be posted again because it's been a while since the last time someone asked this question.....people have seen more movies since then, and their opinions may have changed, also.

I will second this. This question is so ridiculous and it has been asked here about a thousand times. Next time do a search and then think twice about posting it again for two reasons. One, since it has been posted before, it really doesn't need to be posted again and two, WHO CARES!

I have to say "Annie Hall" because it beat out "Star Wars" at the 1977 Academy Awards for Best Picture of the year. Who actually watches "Annie Hall" over and over again? "Star Wars" is just THE biggest blockbuster Hollywood has ever produced with an enormous fan base.

I know I am in the minority, but I have seen Annie Hall many more times than I have seen Star Wars. And I feel most students of film would rate Annie Hall the superior film.

The people would disagree with the film students. The children would disagree with the film students. Star Wars was made for the children and many big children continue to worship the Star Wars saga with multiple VHS rentals and VHS purchases and soon DVD purchases. Star Wars may even be the most underrated movie ever since most critics do not care too much for the blockbuster movies made by big studios. They are so into the art films made by independent filmmakers and studios. At least Star Wars did win 6 Adademy Awards for that year even though they were all technical awards.

On an aside note, I find the people who posted that this was a worthless question and why react to it felt the need to not only take the time to post once, but return to read reactions and post again. LMAO. Now that is funny! Thanks hermit and palebluedot for the humor.

Titanic. One of the worst Best Pictures ever. Not that it's a bad film, but did it really deserve to win against L.A. Confidential? I think pretty much all of its Oscars were deserved (especially director and effects) except the best picture one.
