Got an email. They're putting up an U2 Exhibition in the Venetian. Have we got a surprise for you!
Fans heading to 'U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere', in Las Vegas beginning next month are invited to a unique, state-of-the-art, multimedia exhibition—Zoo Station: A U2:UV Experience, a fan portal comprised of more than 12,000 square feet of interactive exhibit space across two floors of The Venetian (the only resort with direct access to Sphere.)
The exhibit will include a retrospective gallery of Anton Corbijn's photography and videos, a pop up shop with exclusive merch, and a Zoo TV Cinema—an intimate theater where films curated by The Edge, including rare and unreleased concert footage, will screen daily.
Zoo Station, which opens to the public on September 28, is a cutting-edge, multimedia interactive love letter to fans developed in collaboration with Gavin Friday, U2's longtime Creative Director. It is intended to serve as a central destination and hub for fans, where they can congregate, celebrate, indulge in a little retail therapy, view exclusive U2 content, and immerse themselves in the band's musical and creative history.
For a more in-depth preview of Zoo Station, click HERE.
A limited number of Vibee VIP packages and upgrades are available HERE.
Best Wishes,
The U2.com Team

Guess the employees got a preview last night. Saw something in a Vegas twitter randomly. That I can’t find now.
Guess the 100 level seats have some blocked views because of the suites.
and the top level are incredibly steep.

Here’s the new song and video. I like it. Plus it’s cool that it harkens back to the video for I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.

Meh. While other bands I like (that also have plenty of albums out) are still putting out decent music, U2 seems to be moving lower and lower on my list of "must listen-to new music" from these 20+ year old bands.

This looks to be one of the most revolutionary and visually astonishing shows ever put together. 25 days until I see it. Can't wait.

Most 100 level seats are obstructed views of the sphere. I’ll be in 202, which looks like it should be great.
Yesterday I saw face value ($400) 200 level seats for tonight’s show for sale on U2’s website. Not sure how that happens…

Edit: Looks like it’s from row 30 and up.
All artists and venues have hold backs. It can be up to 10% of seats. Even Adele has been dropping tickets the week of. It use to be at the BO but now they go through the TM site. In Vegas I’m sure the casinos had a chuck of it too.

Re: U2 "Achtung Baby" Vegas shows
I don't post here very often anymore, but I was lucky enough to score a single StubHub ticket to see U2 at the Sphere last Saturday, the second show in the place. My experience was quite different from a lot of the chatter I've seen on the Internet about the place. I was in Row 4, Section 307. The view from the 300 level seats was perfect, I thought.
I've seen tons of people online saying you're not allowed to stand in the seats. The Sphere's FAQs contradict this, and so does my experience. My entire section stood for virtually the entire show. I was never asked to sit down and didn't see anyone else asked to sit down. In fact, I didn't see a single usher or security guard except for the people checking tickets at the section entrance. And when I looked around the place, I saw a lot of people standing and dancing.
A lot of people seem to be complaining about the steepness of the seats. While I can't speak for the 400 level, the 300 level seats were steep but no steeper than I've seen in any other modern arena, stadium, or concert venue. In any case, they were certainly not problematic in any way and did not affect my enjoyment of the show.
The sound is fucking incredible. Nothing about experiencing the place yourself is even remotely comparable to any video that you've seen on YouTube, but the sound is crazy good and just as impressive as the visuals. During the 4-song Rattle & Hum acoustic set, it felt like you were sitting with them in a small studio (it was also the loosest I've seen U2 on stage, and it's the 4th time overall that I've seen them).
The screen... When they're using the entire thing, there's just nothing to compare it to. It feels like it's enveloping you. It's stunning and overwhelming (in a great way). I avoided videos of the first night, and the first three songs were probably among the most memorable concert experiences I've ever had. It is incredible. Walking out of the venue, I turned to my friend and said, "I would pay $200 to see anyone here, even an artist that I hate."
The main concourse atrium was a fun place to explore for a while. It's futuristic but not tacky. I've seen tons of pictures online from inside the venue, but none of the concourse. So, if you're interested, here's a few:

Did it have flaws? Sure, I guess so. The seats weren't very comfortable. Beers were $19. It took a while to get out when the show was over. But they're the same flaws present in every venue. It was an overall fantastic experience. I can't wait to see something else there and am a little jealous of anyone that gets to experience it for the first time.

My in-laws are going to Postcard from Earth tomorrow night, so they'll get to experience the Sphere before I do. My wife was invited too, but I told her it would be better if we experienced the Sphere for the first time at the U2 show in a couple of weeks.
Reviews for the 50-minute film, which seats 5,000 per showing have been great. Sounds amazing!

This is a Facebook post from a friend of mine who has spent his entire life working theater sound and set up several Cirque theaters in Las Vegas. He knows live theater sound better than anyone.

Went Friday. Walked into GA floor at 7:30pm, when to Edge's side and was 3 deep. You don't get all the effects of the screen from the floor, but I loved it. Closest I've been in many years.
Full Achtung Baby set to be uploaded...but here is first three...

A friend of mine went (who's a musician and understands sound pretty well), and he was absolutely blown away by the sound as well - more so than the spectacle of the orb. He did say Larry was missed. Wonder if he'll recover enough to play the shows that will be added soon.
Still, $1,500 for a ticket seems a bit much.
