Re: A to Z of bands you have seen Live

Since it's getting towards the end of the year, I thought I'd post the bands that I saw in 2023, 192 bands from 30 different countries. Even with that many bands, I still wasn't able to get all of the letters of the alphabet this year, although I will see Queensryche, Quiet Riot and Y&T next March, so I'll knock those out early. X & Z will be the hard ones for 2024, just looking at what I have already purchased, I have 22 of the 26 letters of the alphabet.

Re: A to Z of bands you have seen Live

This is all-time.

Backstreet Boys
Boyz II Men
Britney Spears
Celine Dion
Chicago
Lionel Richie
Mariah Carey
Taylor Swift - ERAS tour concert movie. Does that count? I was in a theater with 300 plus fans.
Toni Braxton
Tongchai McIntyre - Thai pop singer. Saw him live in Bangkok around 1987
Vanessa Williams

I don’t go to a lot of concerts. My sister is more of a concert goer than me.

Are you deaf yet?

I haven't seen 192 gigs in the past two decades and my tinnitus drives me crazy some days. (My lifetime total is probably over 300, though, counting local bands at bars.)

I wear ear plugs

The exact number for me is 51 club shows, 8 days on metal cruises, 224 different sets, 192 different bands. So 32 sets were the same band on different days (cruise + tour, spring tour + fall tour, two different cities same tour, etc). None of the 192 bands were local bands.

But yeah, this is the first year that I decided to keep track of all of the bands individually, I have records of the shows I've attended (43 in 2022), but have no idea the number of bands. I'm not even sure this year I would have alphabetized the list without seeing this thread.

As of right now, I only have one more show, Zakk Sabbath with Native Howl opening, so I'll finish at 52 shows, 2 cruises, and 226 sets and 194 different bands. I told myself I'd step back a little bit next year, but I already have two cruises, a festival and another dozen shows booked, so realistically I'm already over 100 bands that I'll see from just the first 5 months.

Is it obvious that most of my concert-going was in the 80s-90s? I'll have to think about it more to see if I can remember any others I saw that would fill some of the gaps.
