B and N claimed they merely pre-authorized the flooz, and didn't charge the Flooz until item ships. That's false. I had an pre-order with Flooz a long time ago, and I called to cancel. Basically, BN said I couldn't because they already took the Flooz out.
So, basically, they were lying this morning. They realized that they have all this flooz accumulated in the last month, and realized the only way to get it would be go to bankruptcy court with Flooz.
So instead of doing the honorable thing (AND WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO ON THEIR WEBSITE), they decided to cancel all orders even though they had the flooz in their possession.
As I said before, BN has called me and told me they would honor the order. Just keep calling and eventually it will get done.

I can feel the love...![Smilie](/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Now that B&N doesn't take Flooz, I wonder what will happen to their business... I personally never order from them because their prices always seemed too high, but maybe that has changed. Did anyone ever order much from them without using Flooz?

I just called B&N and crabbed at them but I got no where.
She said, well we dont charge your order until it ships. I said well Flooz was taken out of my Flooz account at the time of purchase. She said well you can call Flooz and she gave me a number. I called the supposed number to Flooz but it was invalid.
This really stinks because we are getting screwed and no one is gonna help us out.
HAS ANYONE TALKED TO AMERICAN GREETINGS YET ABOUT THIS SITUATION?

Here is one other thing that bugs me:
I have a Flooz account notice that my Flooz was used at Barnes and Noble....Once again showing that B and N had possession of my Flooz at the time.

As said before I think the best you could get form AG is your $19.95 back. They have also said they are looking for a new company to give a signup bonus through. You can try and see what they will do but they are pretty far down on the chain of responsibility for this. I can understand your frustration though.

OK, I normally don't get very involved in these kinds of things. However, in this situation, I am actually considering a lawsuit.
For right now, I am interested in hearing only from those who:
1. Bought Flooz;
2. Shopped at B&N with them at least a day before Flooz went down;
3. Had a confirmed order.
If you fit this profile, please email me.
Also, if anyone actually saved the B&N FAQs that talked about them accepting the flooz, could you please email me a copy?

Do any of these online companies respond to their friggin' e-mails?! I sent a message to all three (Flooz, bn.com and American Greetings) yesterday regarding the situation and have yet to hear anything. Being at work, I can't find the time to hang on the phone with someone for an extended time.
Using the Flooz is NOT the same as a credit card. If you ever cancelled an order from Bn.com, you would see that the Flooz doesn't show up in your account without going through a long hassle.

But how come some people have received confirmation that their orders are going to go through? This really should be an all-or-nothing deal...emphasis on ALL. Everyone's order should go through, ESPECIALLY if that Flooz thing is true. B & N got the Flooz, it's just that the Flooz is meaningless. Not our problems. B & N & Flooz's problem. Is this going to swing back and forth every half hour?!

I'm not sure how this relates to what I said about Amercan Greetings? I agree with the statement that if they go through with one order then they better go through with everyones.

I just called again....This time to speak to a supervisor. I GOT NO WHERE!!!!
I even told them I purchase text books from them each year for my 2 college kids because they frequently have better prices on new books.
She basically said NO you have to email Flooz. Yeah lot of good that will do.
She went on to say how Flooz is no relation to them and they cant do anything about it. I then got really mad and said this, "You know what that is bullsh*t. I am a consumer and I am getting screwed by you. Barnes and Noble is too in relation to Flooz because you accept their currency and were in business with them. You should have been in better communiation with Flooz because you have ended up screwing many faithful customers, one of them being me. I will never shop with you again because I would never support a company that does not support the customer or consumer. You have left all of us in hole and said WHO CARES....Talk to someone else. This is not a good way of doing business, so I will take my purchasing somewhere else like Amazon.com"
All I got was, "I am sorry about that Sir"....I just said so am I and I hung up.
I am so pissed right now that I just want to get a Barnes and Noble punching bag to beat the crap out of. LOL Actually I am not that mad.
I know its only 20 dollars that I might be really losing but it is just the principle of the whole thing. I get disgusted when companies treat their customers like this.
I dont want Barnes and Noble to lose money...What I do want is for them to stand up for their customers and go to Flooz and get the money for us...Get the money for our orders themselves. Not pass the buck on to us. It is simply not right. This is the bottom line that irritates me.
Good luck to all that get things turned around.

So now they're going back to in the other direction? What the hell is going on here? I thought we had a veritable stream of successes back there. This is going to be a brawl!

We should add all our lost money on account of Flooz being a ****ed company.

He said my credit card wouldn't be debited but since flooz isn't a valid payment option anymore the computers were rejecting them.
I would call right away if you had just setup a account with B&N to spend your Flooz and didn't give a credit card number.
But I'd watch your credit card when your item ships to make sure they don't charge you so you can dispute the charge.

I am actually losing 50 dollars in Flooz on this but what I meant was I actually only spent 20 for it on the AG deal.
Good luck to all.

Nevertheless, it's $50 of Flooz.
Of the $103 worth of Flooz that is in jeopardy right now, I only paid $19.95 for AG, but it's the principle. Flooz that a company paid is just as good as Flooz I paid for. I doubt Acer would be thrilled that all that money they paid for Flooz went to waste (in more ways than one). Actually, Acer is probably one of the reasons that Flooz went kerplunk.

My advice is not to get mad...that doesn't do anything. The CSR's are trained to let you vent and then after you have blown your wad, you have nothing left to do.
This is what I would do: (and what I did)
1.) Tell them they have accepted your transaction and that any deal between them and Flooz. The money was deducted from your account by BN, showing intent to fulfill the order by charging your account.
2.) Because the order was accepted, they are liable under several laws governing bait and switch laws, as well as deceptive business pratice practices
3.) You will report them to the Better Business Bureau and the FTC regarding fraud if the order is not put through
4.) You will never shop there again.
5.) You will sue for actual damages as well as punitive damages such as time spent.
I am not a lawyer, but these are basic consumer guidelines. Whatever you do do not let them say the following things:
1.) A common Supervisory tactic is to accuse you of threatening. Deny this, say you are merely using all forms of ways of getting your merchandise
2.) Another thing is that CSR's, Supervisors CANNOT hang up on you. DO NOT HANG UP UNLESS YOU ARE HAPPY WITH THE END RESULT
3.) Get Employee Numbers, Extensions, Last Names. Various policies exist, but from this morning, Supervisors were giving out full names in lieu of employee numbers.

Flooz was a stupid name and a an even stupider idea. I feel stupid saying 'Flooz' out loud. I'm a huge idiot for thinking this company would last until October.
