GOOD NEWS FOR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:

Yesterday and over the weekend I received a couple of packages, one of which had been mailed on 7/7 which is pretty much the time scale they were operating with before the delays. Even better news is that packages are now being routed via the Netherlands (EC - no customs duty!) not Switzerland.

I mailed them a few times during the last few weeks and replies were always prompt and helpful and it looks like they’re well on top of the problem and have also gone an important step further for their international customers. Hopefully the problems domestic customers have been having will also benefit from this re-organisation.

My copy of Remo Williams shipped on July 9, and I still haven't received it, three weeks laters....

My order arrived today, exactly 10 business days to Sweden. It's my first order and so far I'm happy with their services.

The package was marked down to $5 and the "Gift" box was checked.

I've been trying to place a pre-order with DDD, and I can't seem to add more than one item to my cart at a time. Is this a new thing?

I clicked on Targets, then Paper Moon, and Targets would have disappeared from my cart. I have cookies turned on and I logged in, to no avail.

My Blues Brothers CE allegedly shipped 7-19; still not arrived. Media mail *can* be slower, but honestly, it's not this bad [usually]. I also ordered a large book via Half.com on 7/19, order confirmed Sunday the 20th, and I rec'd it [media mail] by the 24th. Granted, it was shipped my state, but still--the last things I've ordered Media Mail have taken at most 5 calendar days. That said, they're still within their '5-10 business days' that they promise; but I guess I got used to them underpromising and overdelivering.

I want to apologize for the poor service that you have received as of late at DeepDiscountDVD.com.

We are experiencing an unseasonably high volume of orders and customer service inquiries that have put us behind in responding to emails. We have added staff to address these issues and all of your concerns should be addressed shortly. Again, I apologize for the delay but customer service will address each of your issues directly.

(snip)

Sincerely,
David Barker

This all sounds great. But can I get a show of hands who haven't heard from DDD yet? Allow me to be the first to raise mine.

I haven't had any problems with DDD. I ordered two disks last Friday with the free shipping option, and they arrived today. Five days from order to delivery with free shipping doesn't seem so bad to me.

Look around you wendersfan. This is not the norm with DDD lately. Most here have been waiting weeks and weeks for their orders. Orders that they claimed were shipped soon after the orders were placed. You had a good experience? I couldn't be happier for you. However, I kind of wish I got my damn order before you got yours.

No problems with my latest order. Placed it on 7/23, shipped 7/24, and received today (7/30).

I wasn't saying that other people weren't having problems, or discounting those problems as unimportant (no pun intended). All I was doing was pointing out that the situation isn't universal.

I have an order for a disc that shipped last week. Usually takes a week, 8 days MAX. It is now 9 days. I'll give it until next week but the thing that worries me is last time my disc was late like this I emailed them and found out they accidently sent me a "has shipped" notice when the title was on backorder. Ended up getting it a month later. Too bad it didn't say "on order" when I ordered the thing. Though if it did, I probably would have gone elsewhere.

Great prices, but poor inventory status, shipping and order status. I had items on pre-order for a month and then the release date came and went and they have been listed as backorderd for two weeks now.

When I order from DDD, my order usually take from 10-14 days to arrive. Sometimes when their web site showed the item as in stock are actually not. That's something to keep in mind when ordering from them. I've had items that is shown to be in stock that are placed in back-order when I buy it.

I usually order several at once and use Priority shipping. My complaint is that it seems like they never ship out preorders before release date anymore. Used to, I could preorder something and have it by release date. Now I'm lucky if it even ships out on its release date!

I ordered two discs from them last week with priority shipping, received shipping notice on 7/28 and have yet to receive on 8/4. I'm puzzled because I've had priority packages come to me in under a week from California to Maine but I still haven't received my order from DDD.
