I've only seen 2 episodes, but Carson seems like an *******. He acts like he is better than everyone and he always insults the people.

You can read a recap of the "Queer Eye for The Tonight Show Guy" and check out the "before" and "after"-makeover sets. I'm not sure if the voting is still open for choosing between the two sets but you're obviously free to try.

Finally, I'm not sure if this applies to all TV markets but in my area, NBC reruns episodes of "The Tonight Show" (and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien") that were shown exactly one week earlier. These reruns are shown after "Last Call with Carson Daly" so late, late night Friday, if this applies to you, you should be able to record (if not watch), the particular episode that you missed.

well, that was first: Tonight's episode where Carson was helping out a woman with her fashion, of course, he probably loved being "supermodel duo".

Last night's episode was pretty funny as well. I love how that cop is all "freaked out" around the Fab Five and as giddy as a school girl when they're gone!

What that hottie was doing with him is totally beyond me. Maybe she drives really fast and needs a connection to get out of speeding tickets?

I did like the fake proposal though. That was kinda funny.

And I guess I'm a little late to this party, but I'll add to the general consenus here:
THIS SHOW TOTALLY FRIGGIN' ROCKS!!!

Her breasts were really distracting in that shirt. I was hoping for that damn button to pop, but unfortunately it didn't.

From today's NY Daily News:

PA sees red on
'Queer Eye' cop

By GREG GITTRICH
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

Port Authority Police Officer John Verdi yielded cop top to Carson Kressley on Tuesday’s 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.'

It's perfectly fine for a Port Authority cop to have complete lack of style.
But letting a gay man wear your police uniform on national television? Well, that could get you into trouble.

Officer John Verdi's caveman grooming habits made for many laughs on Tuesday night's edition of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy."

But folks at the PA - a generally reserved bistate agency were not amused by his appearance on the popular cable show.

PA officials said Verdi, who lives on Staten Island, never got permission to be identified as a PA cop and should not have allowed a civilian to wear his uniform.

The hit reality show's socalled design doctor Thom Filicia and fashion savant Carson Kressley both donned Verdi's blue cop top during a tour of the officer's cozy apartment.

There also was a moment on "Queer Eye" when Kressley pleaded to Verdi: "Cuff me! Cuff me!" ' and the cop attempted to oblige.

It was unclear yesterday whether the PA would try to discipline Verdi, 29, who could not be reached. PA spokesman Greg Trevor said, "We are looking into the matter."

"Queer Eye," which is shown Tuesdays on cable's Bravo channel, was launched on July 15. The makeover show has become the surprise hit of the summer.

On each episode, five gay hosts guide one hapless straight schlep through a fashion and decorating makeover.

Ratings have been so good that NBC, which owns Bravo, repeats "Queer Eye" on Thursdays.

Verdi's appearance will run on NBC tonight at 10 o'clock.

The show finds him in a long-term relationship with an attractive model. Verdi, a stocky man with a shaved head, admits he doesn't even know "what sexy is." So the program's Fab Five show him the arrows to toyland.

They give him a spray-on tan, buy him stylish casual clothes and furniture, cut his gnarly toenails and even teach him how to cook a "man quiche" for his vegetarian galpal.

In the end, the outspoken quintet succeeds in rekindling the romance between Verdi and his girlfriend.

"It was good entertainment," said PA Police Benevolent Association President Gus Danese. "What he did, he did on his own time. He didn't portray the Port Authority in a bad light. It was harmless.

"The Port Authority has got to lighten up and take it for what it was: entertainment."

I really dig the theme song. Does anyone know the name of the song and artist and if it's available anywhere?

Airbrushed tan. I've never seen it before. It must come off when you bathe. It made the guy look a little yellow. According to the website, www.completebare.com the tan is $85.

Apparently, it's called "All Things" from Widelife featuring Simone Denny. According to the web site, they're working on releasing the single.

It's like the self-tanner you can buy in a bottle, only air-brushed on. It lasts for about 5 days.

Some news from yahoo...

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," that most unlikely of stateside TV hits, is in a position to become a huge international export for NBC and Bravo.

A groundbreaking deal that closed Monday with Australia's Network Ten heads a slew of global sales currently being signed.

The quirky Bravo/NBC makeover show, which has made celebrities of five gay men ("The Fab Five") who transform the wardrobe, home and overall style of a straight guy, also has become an agent of change in terms of international deal-making under the watch of distribution division NBC Enterprises.

The Network Ten deal is unusual in that the broadcaster not only will produce its own Australian version of the reality show but will then entrust NBC Enterprises to sell that version to other broadcasters worldwide. This means that NBCE will be selling both the American and the Australian versions of "Queer Eye" internationally.

Australia's Network Ten also has licensed the American "Queer Eye" series from NBCE for a launch next month. The series has rewritten the Bravo ratings books and has become a hit for NBC as well.

"(Network Ten) knows it is a hot property, and it's a good time to launch, so they are moving fairly quickly to air it," said NBCE director of international sales Leslie Jones, who negotiated the contract in Australia and is finalizing negotiations with broadcasters in France and Germany.

On top of that, NBCE also has carved an extra viewer tier for the show in Australia, with a pay TV window to follow the over-the-air broadcast.

NBCE also will have a hands-on role in the Australian production. "We are going to jointly select a production entity, and we will have joint approval over that Australian production company," Jones said.

Jones also oversaw recent deals for local production and licensing of the American version to Flextech in the United Kingdom and to Scandinavia's Viasat. New Zealand's TVNZ has signed up for the American episodes, with an option to produce a local version, Jones said Monday. The Bravo version also is sold to Iceland and Finland, she added.

"But I don't hesitate to say that the biggest deal to date is Australia, and it is a brand-new network for us there," Jones said.

NBCE has a program output deal in Australia with Network Seven under which the bulk of its product goes to Seven. But, Jones said, "This was one of those shows that did not automatically fall under the output deal."

NBCE negotiated with Seven for an extended period before looking at offers that had come in from other networks. Network Ten will launch the American episodes of "Queer Eye" next month and will go into preproduction of the local version at the same time.

"Network Ten is looking to launch the show on a number of time slots in primetime that I could not be happier with," Jones said.

The series was created by David Collins, a gay man, and developed by David Metzler, a straight man -- "David & David," as they are referred to in-house at Bravo. They were instrumental in choosing the buoyant talent for the American version and will be brought in to choose the five Australian gay maestros.

"David & David will be involved in choosing the talent in all the territories in which we (format) the series, but we can't spread them too thin. ... In some territories, they will play more of a consulting, back-seat role," Jones said. "But they will be very involved in the Australian version,"

Thanks for the 411.

The format does lend itself to being exported and doing well in other countries.

This latest guy butch looked way better when they did the makeover, he looked like he had way more hair.

It was odd that most of his friends were all clones of him.

Last nights episode was painfully (and unitentionally) funny. I kind of feel sorry for him since both his parents and her parents were coming over, can you imagine the anxiety - ack!

The OTT liquor quantities were hysterical.

Can't say Thom's furniture choices were great, but oh well...

the drama! the intrigue! the near disasters - one of the best episodes IMO.

Agreed. The part where everyone is sitting in silence had me on the floor. So uncomfortable. And the booze...so much booze...

how could I have forgotten that part... classic! (isnt there some Murphy's Law about 15min after and before the hour when silence occurs for no apparent reason?)

And the way the Fab 5 mimicked that painful silence by glaring at each other over their drinks. Priceless!

I thought this was one of the funniest episodes yet. The super-speed shaving after already being shaved at the barbers was mind-boggling. The horrendous mint julip even funnier. I actually liked the furniture though. I was digging those light up tables.

The rainman part was funny too. "Don't buy nice stuff because you will just break it."

Seriously though, this guy was ridiculously cheap. I guess that's how you can afford an apartment like that though.

When he broke the glass and shaker, I felt sorry for the guy especially when he was talking to himself.

This was the least successful straight guy "makeover" the Fab 5 have done yet. Watching him smashing the h'or doerves was hilarious as well as his multi-functional use of the rag.

And how could we forget when Carson actually sliced open Tom. The guy was dripping blood down his forehead.

Great episode for entertainment, not for a successful transformation though.

This guy was really not into it, and he was beyond Cheap. what is the point of being a millionaire if you don't spend it, he will never change his ways

Actually it was Ted, but that was gruesome. The blood was pouring down his face.

I think my wife figured this episode out. She guesses this was probably the first episode where it wasn't the guy's idea to go on the show (or the guy just didn't want to go on the show.) The poor dude just had no grasp of the concepts they were explaining.

I think they are airing new episodes in November. I am not sure of the exact day though.
