Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

I probably should have bailed last year but I stuck it through hoping it would get better but I'm done with the originals.

In my head it ran two fun seasons.
Actually, IMO, this season has been a bit better than the last one so far.

I've bailed on Marvel: Agents of Shield. They toyed around too much with the Fitz/Simmons relationship for me to continue putting up with Alias set in the Marvel filmverse.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

I gave up on the Walking Dead after last year. The big mid season death pissed me off, b/c I thought it was lazy plotting (the continued death of anything hopeful), but I struggled through the rest of the year. By the end of last season, I'd just had enough. The show is depressing. If it was great TV that was depressing I would still watch it. In Treatment was depressing. The Walking Dead is just not great TV.

I've stuck with it but that is basically how I feel about the show. If the show wasn't so popular I would have already walked away. It has also killed pretty much any enthusiasm I once had for zombie films.

The characters are uninteresting, it's repetitive, the storyline is stagnant and doesn't seem to be going anywhere or building towards anything. It's directionless.

I think it is one of the least compelling shows on TV unless you love seeing zombie gore. Boring, uninteresting, and intensely dislikable characters, incredibly repetitive plotting with cardboard cut out villians, completely unbelievable manufactured and overly melodramatic situations, and a ludicrous and illogical view on how people would act. And they drive around in new cars. Add in terrible terrible dialogue and pretty crappy acting and it is one of the worst shows on television, yet it is one of the most popular. It is completely baffling. For full disclosure I find zombies inherently boring and dumb.

It promised us Romero every week. What we got was All My Children with zombies. I wouldn't hold the show against the genre if a good zombie flick comes out though, hopefully it hasn't soured zombies forever. That said, I enjoy watching it for the soap opera value, the fact that my friend like it and it actually gives me something to talk about with someone, and the frequently impressive FX work. Plus it still shoots on film, so I'm a little partial to that .

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

For me, the "good" zombie show on TV is IZombie. That show is almost always a same night view. It's a fun show that is not reliant on "cool zombie kills" for it's only remaining source of entertainment. Not that I ever cared about those to begin with.

I know people who still watch the Walking Dead and since I did watch for five seasons I don't mind people telling me what is happening on it, but it just reinforces my decision to quit the show.

I have no idea what All My Children you were watching... The show does zombie gore very well and has a couple of great characters. The ever rotating cast is a buzz kill and I get the feeling most of the long-term plot is being directed by AMC to keep their golden goose alive.

I gave up on the second season of Empire after the first episode. Als gave up on The Amazing Race this season and will likely not return to it in the future.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

Quantico = Wasn't going anywhere. Kind of felt they forgot about the main plot.
Person of Interest = Stopped somewhere in season 2. Just got boring for me.
Hex = Just got super stupid.
Teen Wolf = Watched three episodes and couldn't get into it.
Adventure Time = I hate this show so bad. No idea why people like it.
Kill la Kill = Over the top fan service. I can just watch porn.
Bones = Just hated the show.

Castle is on fence. I like most of the episodes but there are just to many of them. Maybe 30% of the episodes feel like more of the same. I stopped somewhere in season 2. I'm not sure when I'll get back to it.

I think the biggest problem is that it never lived up to the pilot. The pilot was one of the most cinematic things I've ever seen on television. Since then, the show has been through three different showrunners without any clear idea of a direction and been offing people for shock value. It's largely worth watching for the cast and the gore, but I get the sense that it doesn't have a very clear sense of direction because they have no intention of doing something they could end it.

Gotham - just didn't have time this Fall. I heard season 2 is pretty decent so may catch up on it over the holidays.

Season 2 has been great so far. If you enjoyed season 1 at all, definitely check out 2.

Quantico is on my chopping block. Still have the last few episodes on my DVR but I doubt I'll watch them.

Gave up on Criminal Minds this year as well. I still enjoy the cast but I just don't enjoy the super dark stories they go with anymore.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

Just dropped a few shows that had collected on my DVR...

Masters of Sex - This last season was a slog and I just don't like any of the characters anymore.

Heroes Reborn - It wasn't as terrible as the last seasons of the prior show, but it still wasn't compelling enough for me.

Maron - It's a decent show, but sort of like Portlandia I felt, "Okay, I got the gist of it... time to move on." Like 2 or 3 seasons were fine, but I've had my fill. An amicable split, if you will.

On the endangered list:

Homeland - I've got 3 built up and I find myself cringing at the thought of putting up with more Carrie.

American Horror Story Hotel - I love the setup and idea, but a show this dark and weird at its core needs a more likable protagonist than Wes Bentley.

This year I've dropped Scream Queens (just not feeling it) and Homeland (I've had enough of Carrie and he depression swings).

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

I guess I dropped Scream Queens. I liked it at first, but now i have 3 on the DVR and I forgot to record one episode. They had been re-showing them on Saturday so I was just watching them then, but then the baseball playoffs started. I can watch it online, but I just can't get interested. I thought it would be funnier.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

I tapped out on The Leftovers. Should have never really started it given its creator. Fool me once, shame on you...

Also stopped the League last week. I know it's the last season but it just doesn't do it for me anymore.

I'm probably in the minority but I just not going watch anymore of Blindspot.

Don't really care for that male lead and not that very interesting. Jaimie Alexander is nice to look at but those tattoos are big turn-off even though they're part of the clues on every episode. I might watch it if come out on Netflix to give a second chance.

I agree it's shit and has been for a while.... but you're really going to drop a 22 minute show with only 4 episodes left?

Hawaii Five-0 and Once Upon a Time... but I'll probably binge-watch them later.
