I think JD goes home if he's in the bottom 3.

Patti Smith sings the excellent original release version of that song, although Bruce has an excellent live version as well. They're both definitive (if that's possible).

Well, I got 2 out of 3, missed on JD, with Jessica taking his spot, but Heather and Daphna got their chance to sing an INXS song.

Daphna screwed up in the beginning, but rebounded well.

Heather just sounds weird tonight, and last night, I think she's a goner.

Jessica actually did well with her song.

Hard not to agree with the decision of the band, INXS.

At this point, there are another three or four that could be cut right now because there is no way they are going to win.

How long is this supposed to last? Are they cutting episodes because of lackluster ratings? If they started off with 15 singers, were they planning 15 episodes, with one person gone each week?

Marty was better tonight than last night. He really dug deep for that one. Nice job.

Daphna got a bit shafted. I didn't think she was nearly as bad either night as they did. But I guess I don't hold Rock The Casbah up as highly as a classic "punk" cut as they do. Whatever. It's not Spanish Bombs for god's sake.

Still, she was a goner eventually, as was the red head. Nice to see INXS rhythm section in action. I like how loud they mixed the bass. heh heh

I definitely agree with the band, INXS. However, if I was gonna be bold I'd probably have booted all three. I didn't think Jessica did particularly well but I guess it was well enough to be the one who didn't get axed.
I agree with Gil too on Daphna's punk comment. The Clash may have been a punk band but Rock the Casbah is hardly a "punk" song. Tommy Gun, as Gil Mentioned Spanish Bombs, or Atom Tan those are a few "punk" songs by them.

LOL. That is weird, isn't it?

Although I assume that the phrase must be a Mark Burnett-ism, like 'the tribe has spoken' since it's not how people usually speak in conversation.

Was hoping Daphna didn't have to go home. She wasn't that bad and was nice eye candy once she got the hair out of her face. I wonder what JD's going to pull next week.

I'm in total agreement with the 2 that went home tonight -- they were consistently poor. (And I agree the double elimination is probably due to the poor ratings for the show and CBS is scrambling to shorten its run. If it were a huge hit, they'd love the final weeks to coincide with the fall premieres on other stations but they know they can't compete now.)

MiG has always been my favorite, but I have a gut feeling that Marty is going to win this -- I can somehow visualize him with their band, INXS, better.

Surprised about the double boot... probably would have been better to send 'em all home and then look over to the side of the stage and send a couple of more with them.

I loved Dave Navarro's reaction

"I'm shocked!"

Then he was trying so hard not to cry. Boo hoo

I also love the dramatic responses by the other singers.

What a bunch of drama queens.

The band, INXS, may have decided they didn't need to hear any more from the two eliminated, and so the band, INXS, dumped them both first chance the band, INXS got. Or maybe these two singers got such abysmally low vote totals the producers decided to dump the dogs so people wouldn't be changing the channel during their performances the coming weeks. More likely though is that two hours a week over three nights is a bit more than America can take of the band, INXS. Now, I like the show a lot more than I thought, and think it is leaps and bounds better than American Idol. But it felt like it was starting to drag a bit. It seems like it has been on a lot longer than it has, and there were still 12 contestants remaing. 14 weeks of pretty much the same thing week in and out would have been a bit too much. I was very pleasantly surprised to see two singers who had zero chance of winning gone.

Yeah, totally. They should feel free to dump them 2 or 3 at a time from here on out!

My only real concern is that if they are dumping multiple contestants, we are gonna have a bunch of recap shows.

That would be great if Burnett didn't plan this and everyone will be scrambling to figure out what to do now.

It would have been cool if, when Brooke had those who felt they belonged in the bottom three raise their hands, they just dump everyone that raised theiir hands right there. From what I saw, everyone who raised their hand really doesn't stand much of a chance anyways-except for maybe Brandon. I don't see it, but he seems to garner some love.

I enjoy hearing 10,000 Maniacs sing it, but no one can beat Patti, not even the Boss.

Did Marty sing again on the elimination show? I got home about 10 minutes late, just in time to see that they had named the bottom three. If he did, why him? His performance wasn't that great.

As for the double elimination, I was really surprised but then again I wasn't surprised at all. I was sitting there thinking, "They have a tough choice on their hands. I don't think Daphna or Heather deserve to be in this band, INXS." Then, they lowered the boom on both of them. Good call, I think.

JD was simply horrible! I actually was surprised that Mig didn't choose the Queen song, but I guess he didn't want to bring back theater comparisons. Mig definitely has been the one improving the most. He still isn't my favorite or anything, but he has come a long way.

I really didn't like Ty too much, either. To me, he almost seemed even more rehearsed than his previous performances, like he had already decided which exact facial expressions to make for each note. I guess he's just not my style.

Yes, he did Nirvana again. The band, Inxs, thought that he gave a great performance.

I heard a rumor that because of his affiliation with the "We Will Rock You" stage show, he is not allowed to sing Queen elsewhere.

MiG's been my favorite from day one, but Marty's really entertaining.

I can't see that being true.

I would imagine he didn't sing Queen because Inxs would want him to do something different. And he actually did sing some of We Are The Champions at the end of the 30 minute show on Monday.

well apparently some people must be watching this show other than us. I was on iTunes browsing through songs by the band, INXS and it looks like Elegantly Wasted is now the top download by them. It wasn't even close before this weeks show. Weird.
