I truly hope that summary just misspelled the name of the doctor. If not, then this show is officially off of my DVR.

wow. just...wow.

That aside, I still think watching this show is a great way to spend 60 minutes on a Monday night in late-February. I'm still entertained.

I guess we're all going to have to wait and see how the name is pronounced tonight. For me personally, it's not a huge deal.

In interesting bit of information about the show from Wonder Con this weekend:

http://tv.ign.com/articles/854/854575p2.html

As for the future of the series, Friedman promised, "Yes, I've mapped it out. Yes, I know where we're going." Season 1 ends with the ninth episode, cut down from the intended 13, thanks to the recently concluded writers' strike. Friedman said Episode 9 ends with a big cliffhanger, but that was "purely luck,' as it was meant to be a cliffhanger for the next week's episode, that now will function as one for the whole season.

Fans asked what they could do to ensure The Sarah Connor Chronicles continues, and the panel all thanked everyone for their support, saying they should just continue watching the show, with Friedman saying he was encouraged by the high numbers the show was getting for DVR playback and online viewing. While Season 2 hasn't been officially ordered by FOX yet, Friedman said, 'Rest assured, we're working on this.'

As a major fan of the movies, it is a huge deal for me, and just another example of how they're really screwing this series up. It should be so much more. The writers/producers claim to be big fans of the movies, but I get the feeling that they didn't really pay attention, either. It's like in T3 where they state that John was 13 in T2, when he was 10. Enough small details like that can upset the hardcore fans, a category in which I belong.

The episode title is a riff on "Demon with a Glass Hand," one of the two Outer Limit episodes written by Harlan Ellison which inspired the original film. To me that gains them far more geek points than they lose if they change Silberman to Silverman.

I think the most depressing part is that the season finale is already next week

Not the best episode, but good nonetheless.

Am I wrong, or is the June 1997 date given tonight totally wrong? Granted, who can tell with all the timelines that this show has caused, but shouldn't that date be 1987?

I don't try to keep up with the dates anymore.

So Cameron doing ballet makes Kyle's brother almost weepy. Tee hee.

Overally, an okay episode, not as boring as last week's episode, for sure.

John would've been 2 or 3 in 1987, but you're right that 1997 is all wrong -- T2 was set in 1995 when John was about 10. Skynet went online 4 August '97, and was able to launch nuclear missiles by the end of the month, so it seems unlikely that blowing up the Cyberdyne lab in July of that year could've stopped Judgment Day.

Was the music she was dancing to at the end the same music playing in that room last episode? If it's not the same, then it was very similar and that was probably why he was creeped out.

Or he just had a boner cuz Summer was looking goooooooood in that leotard.

There were A LOT of references to THE TERMINATOR and TERMINATOR 2 in this episode.

SPOILERS

First off, Kyle Reese's death is remembered. Derek Reese asks where his brother is buried and Sarah tells him that Michael Beihn is buried "in the grass".

Second, they show a damn-good replica of what Linda Hamilton's asylum cell looked like in T2.

Third, of course, Dr. Silberman goes into a monologue where he recalls seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger and Robert Patrick fighting in the asylum hallway from T2.

Fourth, John mentions to Derek Reese about his foster parents Todd and Janelle and how he feels guilty for having them killed.

Fifth, Dr. Silberman ironically becomes incarcerated in the same cell that Sarah was in T2.

James Cameron would have been flattered.

Wow. I am speechless.

Great episode with references to the original Terminator and T2.

Will be back tomorrow with coherent thoughts.

I thought it was a decent ep.

I'm still trying to see what you guys see in Summer. I guess she's growing on me. But there's still something "off" about her face that's a bit distracting.

I am big fan of her because she's not the typical big chested blonde that Hollywood tends to ram down our throats (not that there is anything wrong with that).

Summer also has the Terminator stare down to a T. She could give Robert Patrick a run for his money in that department.

Since this is Fox, I'll be the first to put out the cancelled-during-summer-hiatus platform. Too bad too, the show has potential and I definitely loved all the tie-ins to T2.

It's amazing how much she's improved since the pilot...she was absolutely awful in that, IMO.

In that story from Wonder Con that I posted, Josh Friedman actually mentions that T:TSCC's production costs are actually cheaper than the recently cancelled Big Shots from ABC. He says the majority of the show is shot on the Warner Brothers lot, which saves alot of money to shooting on location in the streets of LA or even Canada. And obviously there isn't a large ensemble cast with huge paychecks.

Terminator franchise is suppposed to be all serious and end of world kind of thing.
I have a problem with the women on this show. Headey & Summer are so hot. With tight fitting clothes and everything. My mind starts wandering ...

Decent episode, and probably the best one so far. Loved the nods to the first two movies, and was thrilled to see how well they did reconstructing Pescadero. I still can't really stand Summer Glau - I'm just sick of the constant blank stares she gives. She doesn't look menacing, nor does she look like she's even thinking. At least Robert Patrick (and Arnold) showed *some* emotion with the stares. Still, Summer is more tolerable than Lena Headey. I'd be more than content if Lena just dropped out of the TV show all of a sudden; I'm sick of her version of Sarah Connor.

How old is Sarah Connor supposed to be? Mid 30's? 40? She looks stupid dressed as a high school teenager. What's with the sleeves that extend over the hand.

Someone asked the panel at Wondercon if Summer's ballet dancing would be incorporated into the show and they didn't say a peep about tonight's episode.

Of course she has the stare down - she has dead eyesl. So does Jessica Alba.

I thought it was a good ep.

Almost everyone on this show needs to go to an acting class or ten, particularly those in the current Connor household.

Has it ever been explained what that "thing" is on Summer Glau's face near her eyebrow? I find myself distracted by it every time they give her a close-up.
