Exactly..."Our lead-in, Terminator, is hurting Prison Break's numbers. Let's air [insert show with similar or worse ratings here] instead, just because it's different, and we can tell our bosses we're doing something this way."

what the fuck do they expect with all the bullshit with the writers strike and messing around with timeslots

This will be terrible if it gets canned before somewhat of an ending

You and me both, pal. I'm getting to the point where I don't even want to invest my time in ANY new show. I think I'll just wait a couple years for new shows to catch on and then I'll catch up using DVD.

That's exactly it. Stupid boneheaded network execs, combined with an ancient nielsen system, on top of that digital distribution (pirating and illegal) and DVD seasons all spell doom for too many shows.

The execs have to realize that and have to make decisions that aren't just based on numbers. I mean if they have something better to show in the time slot then I can understand but I seriously doubt that they do.

I for one will really miss that they won't be able to finish the story. I wonder how the dvd sales were of the first season. I thought it would be pretty decent.

"I know now why you cry." Yeah network execs.

the reason it is getting canceled is because the show's writing is atrocious. people bailed last year when they couldn't take it anymore.

I have to agree. The writing is pretty sub-par.

Sucks major ass. If this really gets canned I'll be down to 2 shows (3 if you count Entourage) that I watch until 24 comes back.

It may not be perfect (what is?) but I find it extremely entertaining and it'll definitely blow if we don't get to see a resolution.

The problem is that more Nielsen people seem watch this show on DVR and fast forward through all the commercials than watch it live.

I don't like commercials, but I know they pay for these shows. If people aren't watching these shows live with commercials, than how the hell will the show get good numbers?

The Millions of dollars it costs to produce this show doesn't fall from the sky you know?

If they are really worried about the lead-in for Prison Break, they should swap the time slots. Maybe that would improve the situation for both shows.

I don't quite understand the current network television situation. It seems like it's managed entirely by fear and greed. Nobody wants to be responsible for the show that didn't make as much money as anticipated, so they'd rather cancel shows than take a risk. I wonder how many long-running shows would last as long as they did given their early histories if they began airing today.

Thank God I grew up in an era (70s) when money & ratings were not the 'end all' of everything. Or one of my favorite shows (Emergency) would never have made it out of the first season.

Bleh, maybe it wouldn't get such poor ratings if there wasn't a commercial break every 5 minutes.

It's still my favorite show but I agree, this episode was crap.

There were a few posters bitching about character development.

Well, I thought this episode did the trick. The Allison Young back story was really well done. It was probably some of Summer Glau's best work on the series. The only part that I didn't really care for was Busy Phillips sitting in the hospital with Sarah. Other than that, it was a pretty entertaining episodes. One complaint I do have is they aren't utilizing Brian Austin Green more.

I don't get it. Some people on this forum bitch and complain about episodes like this that focus more on characters and say how bored they are. And then there are other posters who bitch and complain about more action/chase oriented episodes.

Couldn't prison breaks problems be there problem nope not possible. I liked Prison break but lost interest and keep trying to get in to it but I can't do it. And I have said it before and I'll say it again why cancel this show and put something else that will draw the same or even less how does that make sense. Why don't you finish out the season and maybe it does better as time goes on. Now I watch this show on Hulu because I watch the cbs comedies, but honestly if this was on any other time in the week I would watch it live. It's a good show with some weak moments but that is most shows no show is always good.

I don't understand. Terminator has 4 - 5 million viewers, give or take, each week. Not great, but not in the tank, either. When I look in the Primetime TV Ratings thread, I see that other, "lesser" Fox shows tend to be doing about that well or worse. 'Til Death, Do Not Disturb, etc. Where is the talk of taking those off the air due to poor performance? Or is Terminator judged by a higher standard for some reason?

Fox has seldom been the network of the highest ratings. Yes, it has boasted The Simpsons and The X-Files, two of the most iconic series in history. But more often than not, I've seen the ratings far lower than those of ABC, CBS, and NBC. Terminator may not be a smash hit, but I don't see it dragging the network into oblivion, either. It's holding its own. Why cancel just because it doesn't bring in viewers like the big three?

The people who run the studios are just as fickle as some of the people watching. But at least the Execs can use Money as an excuse for not giving shows a real chance.

Cheers was the absolute worst ranked show when it first aired. Seinfeld also had very poor ratings at the start plus the first couple episodes were complete and utter crap. Thank God things were different back then. If they weren't then we never would have heard of either Cheers or Seinfeld because they both would have lasted 3 or 4 weeks.

I had a double header yesterday.
This season hasn't been good. I used to watch the show almost live every Monday and now it was taking me one week to watch it. Yeah, that's how interested I am in the show right now.

I found this episode meh and was almost ready to stop watching but I like the new episode.
And now that I read that the show is must probable going to be canceled I have to watch until the end.

Very weak episode, too many sub plots.

Why should we care about the pregnant neighbor?
Why should we wonder about Ellison's past life and wife?
Why would the toilet terminator need a daughter?
No more security codes, John can "fix" Cameron again? Really?

Lena Headey looked positively pained doing this episode.
