Is it so very wrong that I think of that line every time I watch an episode of 'Firefly'?

I felt sorry about Ronnie but I did loved the ending.

Well.. better than the Sopranos. But still.. a lot left just open. I have to agree though.. it seems like Vic got a pyrrhic victory. He's free, but it cost him everything he enjoyed while free.
I can't see the series being spun into a movie though, seems like the way it ends is that everyone's lives just go on. Poor Ronnie.. loyal to the end and now he'll be in jail for the rest of his life unless he kills himself or someone gets him first.

Without doubt, this is exactly how it SHOULD end.
Shane does something stupid
Claudette destroys Dutch with the health news, but sticks up for him with the kid
Billings is funny as hell
Ronnie, the guy who was probably the least guilty of the strike team goes to jail!
Vic, working a desk job, no friends, no family, no one thinks anything good about him.
BTW, the only flaw is that Tina got more screen time and closure than Danny or Julian.

I think the cruelest irony is that in the end, Vic is the one who turned on Ronnie. He would have walked free if Vic hadn't cut the deal. That has to burn Mackey.
Shane is a narcissistic coward to kill his kids like that. I hope Vic takes a detour to the cemetery every night to spit on that man's grave.
I think they left the serial killer thread open because I think there should be suspicion on our part about what happened there. I think there's a chance Dutch killed the mom. I'd put it at maybe 10%, but it's there. What happens when the attorney starts looking into his past and learns about the cat? It's not going to end well. That kid ain't going to break.
I wish we had more closure on Acevada more than anything. I wanted to know he lost the election. I can't tolerate the idea of him getting what he wants.
It was certainly a down ending, but it satisfied. Vic lost his family, betrayed Ronnie, and has to live with himself while he writes 750 dull-ass reports on the same bangers over and over. His greatest hope is that he gets good enough at it that they don't just shred them at the end of each month and maybe somebody sees potential there they need to tap. I don't think ICE lets him loose after three years, so I imagine he'll eventually get his shot in the field. If you have a thumb on evil like they know they do, you want to keep that evil close. I really think so. I also really think that means he ends up out in the field.
With nobody out there to look out for Ronnie or to keep the bangers in check, I doubt he makes it to trial before he's killed. He'll probably welcome the shank as it tears into him.

dutch killer?
ok way back in the earlier seasons did anyone else get a feeling that he was going to be a killer. Hence when he killed a cat with his hands and also through a few interviews. What ever happened to that story line?

Vic is in a place far worse than jail or death, and he put himself there. I thought it was interesting that he only put Lem's picture on his desk. Kinda like he just lets what happened with Ronnie and Shane slide right by. He's the same Vic Mackey regardless of what has happened.
Shane acted as a coward, as usual, but his suicide note was aimed at hurting Vic with the truth. In that sense, Shane at least acknowledged what both of them had become.

Some random thoughts:
-The title of this episode is now incredibly chilling.
-Nice to see a quick nod to the "Julian is gay" storyline. I'd say it was subtle, but since the 2 guys he was watching were practically skipping down the street, perhaps not.
-Every scene with Claudette I was like "Oh god, is she going to die!". Speaking of which, CCH Pounder was pretty phenomenal in this episode.
-Overall, strong final episode. Vic's fate was pretty perfect. In my mind he's nothing if not a survivor, so I'm sure he resigns himself to his dull office job.
