Maybe they're waiting to see if they can get Kevin Eubanks. I hear he's available now LOL. Seriously, they could well be waiting until a strategic time to announce anything, such as Leno's return to air, to knock the wind out of NBC's sails once more.

I hope Conan goes to HBO, not because I want him to be a dirty comic but because I feel they are less likely to screw him over than FOX.

I heard FX might sign him. That would suck big time.
There is probably no TV network that would give him job security where you can watch him and not worry about him getting fired.

Yeah but wasn't part of the reason those shows got canned was they were too expensive to produce and didn't do all that well ratings wise? I can't imagine it would cost too much to produce a talk show so I would say if Conan ended up there he'd have a pretty good shot at survival. Personally I'd be very interested in seeing him there or possibly Showtime but any network is fine really. I just want him back period.

Yuck. I recently watched my 30 Rock Season 3 DVDs, and was greeted with the original blue car/"guess who's moving to primetime" promo before the menu, and an insert for the "new" Jay Leno show with the tag line "Primetime had it coming" -- boy did they ever...
if you want to torture yourself, you can see the insert below.

The same geniuses who created this whole mess in the first place must have been behind that ad. After the hit that Leno's image has already taken, that's the way they choose to advertise him coming back to late night?

In other news:
AP, LOS ANGELES - Conan O'Brien may be taking his act on the road and even overseas.
O'Brien's exit deal with NBC barred the former "Tonight" host from TV appearances for several months. He is weighing a tour that would take him directly to his fans, according to a person familiar with the proposal.
The person, who was not authorized to publicly discuss the plans, spoke on condition of anonymity.
Details are unsettled, the person said, but O'Brien may perform live in U.S. venues, including college campuses, and head to Europe. An O'Brien spokesman declined comment.
The tour could be a prelude to a new talk show for the comedian, who left "Tonight" in January when NBC tried to bump him to a midnight slot. Possibilities include Fox, which expressed interest.
Jay Leno reclaims "Tonight" next month.

Actually an HBO 4 night a week late night show wouldn't be too bad an idea. Bill Maher has been on for 8 years with real time, so there would def be job security.
