Jay Leno sets 'Tonight Show' guests
First two weeks to include Sarah Palin, Simon Cowell
By James Hibberd
Feb 22, 2010, 02:09 PM ET
Jay Leno's first two weeks back as host of NBC's "Tonight Show" features a celebrity-packed lineup as NBC tries to revive the late-night franchise.
Leno will welcome former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, the cast of MTV's "Jersey Shore," "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell and Olympians Apolo Anton Ohno, Shaun White and Lindsey Vonn.
NBC relaunches the "Tonight Show" with Leno back at the helm on Monday. Leno's ratings and reputation took a beating while hosting "The Jay Leno Show" at 10 p.m., and "Tonight Show" viewership likewise declined under Conan O'Brien (until his final week). Having a big-name draws like Palin can only help as NBC tries to make "Tonight" appointment viewing once again.
Leno's other guests his first couple weeks include Dakota Fanning, Kim Kardashian, Jamie Foxx and Morgan Freeman.

Disagree, love the Jersey Shore cast. However, won't be watching in either case.

that's not a very impressive lineup, hopefully this means that a lot of celebrities will stay away.

I really don't care who they put on there, I won't be watching under any circumstances. But I guess if Conan was a guest, I would check it out, but that's not gonna happen.

Although Jay Leno just released a top notch guest list for his first week back on NBC's Tonight Show, we just heard from TMZ about actor Will Ferrell dissing a possible spot across from the big guy.
"I don't know. My vote's with Conan," he said on a radio show this morning, according to TMZ. If he actually got an invitation for an interview, he said, "I may have a cold ... I may have a sore throat." (List to the full audio here).
We're wondering if more Team Coco actors will follow suit. Tom Hanks is known as a Conan fan. So is Jerry Seinfeld.
The late night Hollywood parade is meant to be a win-win for both sides: The actor gets to promote their latest project, while the host and the network get high ratings for bringing in a big-time actor.
So perhaps PR professionals will convince actors to go on, no matter what their personal feelings are about the NBC late night mess. In the meantime, while there are fewer late night shows as the Olympics play on, they will have to settle for drumming up publicity on daytime TV.

Yeah that mention of Seinfeld is puzzling (and obviously wrong). Leno is one of Seinfeld's oldest friends, he's made bajillions of dollars at NBC, and is currently producing a new, heavily-marketed show for the network. All his loyalty is with Leno and NBC.

That's the way it appears. You'd think they could at least coerce some of their own show celebs into going on the show. I get that Alec Baldwin and anybody else affiliated with SNL is probably in Conan's corner, but they still do have a few other stars besides those people, right?
