So Mark Pellegrino plays "Jesus" on this show and the Devil on another (Supernatural). I found that kinda funny/ironic.

That was 2 straight hours of insanity and I wouldn't change a single minute of it!

The problem with that theory is that Ben was put in the water as a boy and he has certainly grown from that point forward. If the pool makes you ageless, why has Ben aged 30 years?

Come on....no questions answered? We know that the whispers are the people in the temple and the smoke monster is Jacob's nemesis. probably more I'm forgetting about.

Both of these are good answers - heading us in the RIGHT direction... but we still need to learn more. So in typical Lost fashion there is still much more confusion. Yet I hold my faith in this show's brilliant writers.

Damon Lindelof tweets some advice for this episode:
Yeah, yeah. I know. Some advice. 1. Don't think TOO hard. 2. Be patient. 3. Watch The Biggest Loser Instead.

As to why Shannon was not on the plane, the answer is very simple and confirmed a while back. The actress didn't want to appear on the show, even in a cameo, which is all that would have been. I think the appearances of Boone, Juliet, and Charlie were nothing more than a final tip of the hat to fans.
My favorite part of the the premiere was Terry O'Quinn going off the freaking chain in the acting department. As much as I love Michael Emerson, O'Quinn can really take things to an entirely new level when he wants.
The casting of Hiroyuki Sanada and John Hawkes, even though it's very, very early, appears to be brilliant. Both are tremendously underrated.

Let me begin by saying that I have watched this show since season 1 and find it entertaining, but JESUS the writing and manufactured drama is horrible. Sayid must live, the other other others? say....and then the Sunshine captain turns over an hour glass, they take him into the water and the Losties start freaking out saying it has been long enough. Um. They said if Sayid dies they are all screwed, and clearly sunshine captain/last samurai didn't just turn over a refrigerator sized hour glass simply to admire flowing sand in a moment of zen. BUT, in true Lost fashion, there must be protest, followed by a karate chop. Still fun, but the writers attempts at drama really sucks. They should take clues from the Shield (except the last season) on how to write some true (i.e. non-manufactured or artificial) drama.

I'd say there's also a good chance that Desmond was never on the race in this timeline.
The only reason that he did it was in order to impress Charles Widmore.
It would seem that Widmore was only being an asshole to Desmond in order to keep him away from Penny and get him on the island to push the button. Notice how his attitude toward Desmond changes after he makes it back from the island.
Without the button to press, Widmore wouldn't need to try to drive a wedge between Penny and Desmond. Desmond doesn't need a big stunt to impress Widmore.

My working theory right now is that we're seeing one universe where the nuke went off and one where it failed to go off. My guess is that when the nuke failed, the Incident occurred and it caused the island to move and the losties to transport back to their proper time.
The other timeline of course is where the nuke went off and destroyed the island.

Wow! Crazy stuff in those 2 hours.
So Miles communicated with Dead Juliet who said "It worked" So Sawyer in timeline A has no idea what the hell that means.
So I'm assuming the Hydrogen bomb did in fact work, but it created two parallel universes. The 1st one is the current group that got blasted from the 1970's back into present island time.
The 2nd timeline is that Oceanic Flight 815 never crashed and everyone landed safely in Los Angeles.
It's funny thought because everyone has aged dramatically in the 6 years since the show began so are we supposed to assume that the 2nd timeline still takes place in 2004?
That is going to create some really confusing storytelling for the season, especially trying to follow 2 different timelines unless there is some way they can finally intersect.
So, In timeline A Smoke monster is using Locke's body/appearance as his vessel.
Good stuff, although I'm getting a headache now thinking about all the possibilities.
Loved Hiroyuki Sanada's line about the english language feeling dirty in his mouth.
I think Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse must have read some Stephen Hawking books and consulted a psychics professor to write these 2 hours....Jeez, that is some serious good writing and casting by those 2.

am I correct in thinking though, that the bomb didn't create two timelines, rather resulted in one that we are presented in parallel. NC timeline is September 22, 2004, no? and the on-island timeline is in 2007. There's no reason destiny/fate could not have brought the same characters that have now landed in LAX, in the three years that are to pass until 2007, to the island. So what we think are NC and C stories are actually the same, no-crash timeline (at least, no 2004 crash) however at different stages.
