Re: The Office -- "St. Patrick's Day" -- 3/11/10
Thought it was a fun episode tonight, more laughs than usual. It was cool seeing Todd Packer again. First episode he's been in since the second season, I believe. Daryl cracked me up, pulling Michael's leg with the "learn how to use this little TV" line. Erin and her "foster brother' was a bit WTF?
I was sure that Jo was going to fire Michael by the end of the episode. Well, maybe later in the season. Kathy Bates' character still seems like an odd fit for the show.

Solid episode, one of the best this season imo.
Granted, that's not saying much since I've been really critical of this season but still.

I actually enjoy how Kathy Bates calls Michael on his inappropriate actions.
And way to go, Darryl! I hope he stays upstairs, and doesn't realize he likes it better in the warehouse, and goes back. That would be too cliche, and disappointing.

Not a fan of tonight's episode. I like Kathy Bates, but not in this show.

Couple funny moments--Megadesk, Packer, but overall really meh.
Michael was his usual annoying self, which didn't help things.

Yeah I'll give ya that. He redeemed himself a little bit at the very end.
MOST of the time Michael is a selfish, unlikable prick, but every now and then he actually comes across as a decent guy. Personally I wish they'd focus more on his good traits than his stupid, annoying, selfish, juvenile ones.

I enjoyed it, though I agree that Kathy Bates doesn't do anything for the show. I'm enjoying the Jim/Dwight interactions though.

I think they're not as funny because everything now is at the point of absurdity. There is no way any office would let you construct or any physical way to make Quad-Desk. Same with Jim wrapping everything. It sucks, because at first, the pranks are realistic with staplers in jello, dressing up as Dwight, now they're just insane and over-the-top.
The show is better when more realistic. I'm not complaining, "This show sucks" and all that like other f'n idiots do every fucking week, yet they still come back for more. I'm just saying that's what's missing.
Never understood that when a sitcom ceases to be funny why you would still watch. I just dropped 30 Rock like a year and a half ago for being shitty. You don't like it? Stop watching!!!
