Widmore's connection or desire with the island and his true intentions have never been clearly explained and is one thing that will bother me if it is just discarded.

One more reason to watch online rather than on TV.

IDK, her death reminded me of Brian Austin Green's character in Terminator or Paul Ballard in Dollhouse. It didn't bother me how it was handled. Sometimes people just get shot unexpectedly.
I mean what else would you want out of her character? She wasn't all that important to the main story. She usually just popped up every couple of episodes to help with something or cause trouble.

More about the post-finale Jimmy Kimmel Live special:
http://www.deadline.com/2010/05/jimm...-lost-finally/
Jimmy Kimmel Live has more studio audience ticket requests for May 23rd than any show in its 7+ year history. That's because he'll host an "Aloha to Lost" one-hour special consisting of a post-show discussion and restrospective after the ABC series' grand finale. The draw also is the airing of 3 alternate final endings conceived by Lost executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. Joining Jimmy in the studio will be Naveen Andrews, Nestor Carbonell, Alan Dale, Jeremy Davies, Emilie de Ravin, Michael Emerson, Matthew Fox, Daniel Dae Kim, Terry O'Quinn and Harold Perrineau, with special appearances by Jorge Garcia, Josh Holloway and Evangeline Lilly.

Re: Lost -- "The Candidate" -- 05/04/10
I just rewatched the pilot, and found some funny parallels that were obvioulsy intentional.
In the pilot, Jack is telling Kate how during his first surgery that he tore the dural sac on the patient and nerves spilled out like angel hair pasta.
In The Candidate that just aired, Jack repairs the torn dural sac of Locke in the sideways timeline.
