I can't remember. Did clone Doctor get to have his own sonic screwdriver as well?

Matt Smith has a line about remembering this, so now I'm thinking Tennant is not the clone Doctor.

He's been through several different designs, and it was destroyed once on-screen during the 5th Doctor's run and wasn't seen again until the TV movie with the 7th/8th Doctor.
I think... think... that the Doctor can build them if he has to. Don't know how I know this; it might just be some fan speculation I picked up and confused with canon.
In the old run, the Sonic Screwdriver was part of the TARDIS Toolkit; the Doctor found it so useful that he always carried it on his person. I only recall seeing the toolkit onscreen once (4th Doctor, I believe) and it was shown in greater detail in the Doctor Who Technical Manual. http://evonvetter.tripod.com/drwho/t...gy/toolkit.htm

Both. However....
People have been sending Paul McGann tweets of the silhouetted image and he said that wasn't him. More than likely, that's Kate Stewart.
I wonder if the Zygons are involved with a 10th Doctor/Rose adventure that the 11th stumbles into during the bigger story?

Help me out here. I'm trying to figure out how this is going to work. This 50th anniversary is airing this month, then the Christmas special next month which is the debut of the 12th Doctor. So when does the actual new season start?

Next year, either in the spring or the fall(!). I don't think a firm date has been given yet, though I've heard 'fall' and 'autumn' mentioned a lot.

Yeah. August has been batted around for awhile. The first I heard of it was that internal memo Ian Levine leaked that mentioned that a new Doctor would be at the helm (which sparked the BBC to announce Smith's departure a few days later).

Re: Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Celebrations/Special
Since this is part of the "global simulcast," there should be no commercials during the 75-minute special, but the BBC America press release doesn't explicitly say that (but by saying simulcast, I think it is safe to say it is implied, since the point of this is that everyone around the world has the chance to start watching, and finish, the special at the same time).
BBC America hasn't finalized the November 23 schedule yet. So far, Matt Smith episodes are airing until 2pm, and the special is confirmed as starting at 2:50pm. I thought I remembered reading a while back that BBC America was going to air some kind of "pre-show" before the special -- there is nothing listed from 2-2:50pm, so that seems like the right spot for some kind of preview/recap/pre-show (with commercials).
The repeat of the special from 7-9pm (before the series premiere of Atlantis) will have commercials, but also Inside Look interview segments with Matt Smith and David Tennant.
BBC Three in the UK is airing Doctor Who Live: The After Party at 9:05pm -- this seems like an ideal program for BBC America to add to the simulcast at 4:05pm.

Getting ready for a little Who Overload myself. This is the calm before the storm...
- Just finsihed Big Finish's The Light At The End yesterday. Wonderful stuff, and I loved the revamped theme music.
- Friday 11/22: An Adventure In Time And Space on Friday night (9pm ET)
- Saturday 11/23: Day of the Doctor Saturday simulcast (2:50pm ET) and likely the primetime rebroadcast at 7pm
- Monday 11/25: Taking my kid to Indy for the 3D Theater showing of DOTD.... he's with his mom that weekend and she doesn't have BBCA. Bought tickets the day they were available.
- Thursday 11/28 thru Sunday 12/1: Heading up to Chicago for my 4th trip to Chicago TARDIS. Guests this year are too numerous to list by name (3 Doctors, Freema Agyeman, 5 Classic Companions, Davros, Strax, Aliens, Big Finish stars, etc.) plus they've leaked a pre-announcement announcement that there are MORE guests to be annouced later today.
Phew!

Re: Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Celebrations/Special
I'm gearing up to do an "11 Faces of the Doctor" marathon over the next week before the 50th Anniversary premiere. Going through my collection to find one story for each Doctor.
I'm thinking:
Hartnell - The Aztecs
Troughton - Enemy of the World (Downloaded it last month but still haven't watched it!)
Pertwee - Carnival of Monsters
T. Baker - Horror of Fang Rock
Davison - Caves of Androzani
C. Baker - The Two Doctors
McCoy - Curse of Fenric
McGann - TV Movie (of course)
Eccleston - Empty Child / The Doctor Dances
Tennant - Blink
Smith - The Doctor's Wife

I finally got around to watching the McGann movie on the off-chance the upcoming special references it at all. That was one steaming pile of s#!t. The Doctor is half-human?! I assume that's a plot point that was never mentioned outside of the movie.

EDIT: I love this mini-episode so much! Having McGann back, even for 6 minutes, is fantastic! Love how Moffat made the Big Finish audios canon by having the Doctor name his companions - "Charley, C'rizz, Lucie, Tamsin, Molly..."

Re: Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Celebrations/Special
I'm not gonna lie, this to me is more exciting (and likely more satisfying) than the actual 50th special will be. McGann is my favorite Doctor. I've read several of the books, heard tons of the Big Finish serials, and read all of the comics featuring the Eighth Doctor. I even love the TV Movie, although it's got some big flaws. Seeing the BBC acknowledge him again, and giving him a regeneration, and officially acknowledging many of his non-canon companions, fuck, I got a little teary-eyed. I really REALLY hope they manage to include McGann (and McCoy and the Bakers) into the 50th, because I don't want it to be just the post-2005 crew. It makes me so happy that they made him part of the 50th in some way, and now we know where the War Doctor fits into the timeline.
And, seriously BBC, it's time to give McGann an 8th Doctor Adventures spin-off series. He'd rock that shit. You could just take all the existing stories and film them (well, not all of them, some of them suck).
