I was wondering that as well. Has this show dealt with it before? What if someone dies in their sleep? Is it only through a bite that one turns?

That zombie rain was hilariously bad. I mean, in concept, it was a cool idea. But the way they executed it. It is bad.

I wouldn't think one person turning inside would really cause that much damage. They might bite one other person, and while they're feeding on the victim it would be pretty easy to take them out.
There are a lot of people inside. Once the problem is recognized it would likely be pretty easy to quickly isolate and take care of.

Hey, he's probably curious, let's face it, with the apocalypse around, he can't be choosy.

Carl already bugged this shit out of me. The way he stormed out of the library reminded me of a little girl upset. And what's with the shit talk to the little Girl ? She should have told him to piss off and dont worry about what I do.

I liked it. Still annoyed by the super anti-climactic ending from last season, but I still like the show enough to keep tuning in. Having a zombie loose in the cell block while people are sleeping is definitely going to cause a little mayhem. I'm expecting the next few episodes to be fairly hectic.

I think when he found the gun and then unloaded it and tossed it into his wheelbarrow of weeds it was supposed to indicate something had changed in his attitude. This was later confirmed in his conversation with Herschel.

Just like to point out they live in a prison so they can easily control the possibility of a night time zombie turn by locking the doors and rotating a watch. Just saying.

Holy shit!!!
16.1M viewers and 8.2 in the demos
New series record
This show annihilated the network competition.

Jesus christ. those are like NCIS numbers (overall, not demos). AMC is probably dancing a jig.

One of many stupid moments in this episode along with the pig, the wine shelf falling over for no reason, reading by flashlight, iPods, and the notion that crazy girl would have survived or could have gotten the jump on Rick.
That sick kid's dialogue was also embarrassing.
What was the buried pistol in the intro about? Did I miss something?

The crazy girl didn't get the jump on Rick. Even distracted he subdued her... so I'm not quite sure what the complaint is.
I think the pistol was left over from the raid.
Honestly, half the complaints people have are just goofy. Do people honestly think that the only conversation anyone had regarding the pig was just between Rick and Carl? Did Rick need Hershel to declare the pig officially dead? Does everyone need to see Hershel do a bacon autopsy next?
I can't recall a single other show where people are both annoyed when everything is said and happens on camera to the point where the show is frozen on a farm, and then complain when the show speeds up and not everything is spelled out.
I suspect we'll get a conversation after the prison outbreak where Hershel figures out the water/pig/kid connection, maybe mention that the kid had an auto immune disease that made him sickly, or suspect the kid was never vaccinated. My guess is they didn't want to have a nearly identical conversation with Rick & Hershel in back-to-back episodes.

Now whether Rick has a working laptop so he can keep iTunes organized is anyone's guess.
But he didn't. No mention whatsoever. It was a glaring plot hole, I suspect the kind you can expect when you have a different show runner every season.

^ So it was Daryl that gave him some nasty germ after licking and sucking his fingers and then shaking his hand?

It appeared that the helicopter damaged the roof, and water (or fuel?) leaked from the ceiling and proceeded to rot it. Both the ceiling, and the shelf were wet. The walkers, being trapped up there with no food became lurkers (basically a shut-down state). The commotion downstairs activated them and thus we get the raining death.

As for the helicopter, I understood the rotting ceiling thing, just hated the convenience that all of a sudden dozens of individual holes broke right then and there as they were inside (opposed to even say, one giant hole in the ceiling, but that wouldn't look as cool). Obviously most of these zombie attacks on the show require a lot of specific events to happen right then and there, but this one bothered me the same way that silent zombies manage to sneak up on people
