I think it ran long. There must have been another 10 minutes after that. You missed the coup where Johnny took over as lead council. I'd try to catch the rebroadcast.

Bob returns in tacky Aloha shirt. He finds that all his case files are gone. He's furious and calls for a meeting. His secretary informs him that there already is a meeting scheduled at Cochran's office that morning. Bob storms in to find he's been usurped and the other Dream Team members all want Cochran as lead counsel. OJ is on speakerphone. He uses some vague football terminology to let Bob know. When asked directly by Rob Kardashian what Juice wants, he says he wants Johnny to give the opening statement.
Final scene is in the courtroom. Dream team looks over and notes Darden with the prosecution. OJ asks Johnny "When did they get a Black guy?" Marcia flashes a coy smile at the defense team.
So when was last night's F-bomb? I must have missed it.

Oh yeah. Totally went right over my head that he was cursing then. Somehow "Motherfucker" seems a lot worse, though I suppose it really isn't.

If you tape any FX show it is better to extend the recordings by 15 minutes since the airtimes are never set in stone and they usually end up being 1 hr and 5 minutes or 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Well I learned something new. Shawn Holley, who had the misfortune of trying to keep Lindsay Lohan out of jail for several years, was on the Dream Team.
I'm just amazed Fred Goldman is still alive. I'd have thought he'd have a stroke from apoplexy by now. The actor playing him sure nailed it.

What I found Interesting was the Race Card and LAPD was already Planned before Cochran was brought in.
They used Cochran to Sell the Race Card and the hatred of the LAPD.

Great stuff. Never knew about the re-staging of OJ's house. That stinks. Also didn't realize (or at least forgot) that happened to the guy who was second chair. That explains why he wasn't familiar to me. Still if a lead prosecutor collapsed in the courtroom while it was televised, I'd like to think I'd remember that.
Interesting video from Slate interviewing Marcia Clark on the case and discussing the verdict. Can't embed the video now it seems.

I remember the restaging of the house.
From Vanity Fair fact checking:
From Vanity Fair fact checking:
Co-prosecutor Bill Hodgman had a heart attack in the courtroom during opening statements.
Not true. This is clearly embellished for dramatic effect—go figure, in an all-around authentically dramatic case. According to Toobin, it was during a closed-door meeting among Clark, Hodgman, and D.A. Gil Garcetti, after the opening statements, in which the discovery failures were revealed and where Hodgman started to feel chest pains. Paramedics were called and he was treated for a temporary stress condition, which did result in his stepping down from the case.
According to Darden’s memoir, the defense was unconcerned about Hodgman’s health:
The defense lawyers were delighted that he was out of the picture. As we left chambers, Cochran, Douglas, and the others could barely contain themselves.
“We almost killed Hodgman,” they joked.
“I guess he couldn’t handle your opening statement,” Douglas said. They laughed like children, the cold, insensitive bastards.

I noticed the opening scene where Johnnie was stopped by the motorcycle cop was filmed in Westwood Village near UCLA. I'm there a lot for work and recognized it right away. I noticed Mr. Noodle in the background, but I don't know if it was there back in 1994 or not.
Vance and Brown were great in this, especially Vance.
Cochran to Darden: "N***a please"

A couple of episodes ago, I thought Vance was a lock for Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Special. Now I'm wondering if he's a supporting actor or the lead.

I liked that scene because it added context to Johnnie Cochran's arguments about the LAPD and race.
I'm really loving this show because all of these characters are really coming off as three-dimensional. No one is "right" and everyone is flawed to a degree. I think they are doing a great job of showing all the sides.
And I love that OJ is basically a side player in all this drama.

I think that scene was supposed to be a flashback to even earlier then 1994. I think Cochran was ADA in the 1980s.

great scene.
great show, that has me in for whatever these producers do for the next American Crime story.
The staging scene was crazy.
I watched a ton of this trial back in the day, but recall only hazy flashbacks, this show is rekindling a lot of WTF moments.
Cochran was a stud and Vance is amazing in this.
Tremendous show.
