By the way, I really do like Culber a lot and I'm a little sad he's dead. Although I guess he'll live on in the mycelial network and his relationship with Stamets will continue on there, until the painful moment when Stamets must destroy the network to save the universe (or at least Starfleet) and finally say goodbye.

Holy crap this show is great! That would have been a great cliffhanger but I'm guessing it'll all be wrapped up in the next two episode.
Loved Saru's speech and what an awesome fight scene. Those phaser deaths look brutal.

That kicked ass. This show is awesome. That climactic battle was sweet - Discovery firing into the throne room was an epic moment, along with Yeoh’s fight moves and phaser dodging.

Loved the episode. I don't recall Discovery firing into the throne room. The ship flew through the core causing the palace ship to blowup and freeing the network. No shot fired that I remember. Going to have to watch that part again.

And old-school photon torpedo sounds during the core run too!

Damn, that was fucking badass. Not that I didn't like the show to begin with, but the stakes keep getting higher and higher after each episode. And next week? Fuhgettabouit!

I don't understand the hate for Discovery among some fans. Yes, it's different. But I'm really enjoying it.

I was hoping Discovery would return to the past so they could save the doctor but the future makes more sense given the presence of mirror Georgiou.

To be fair the first 3 episodes were pretty bad. Maybe necessary to the overall arc, but not compelling. The next 7 got increasingly better, with the last 4 being fantastic. If someone though only watched the pilot or the first couple of episodes I think they would be justified in hating it. However, it has become a truly great show.

Hey that was great. The first 3 episodes aren't good on their own but looking back they helped build the story nicely.
It's obvious that mirror-Philipa will help the Federation beat the Klingons, the question is "how"?

I really hate how this show is like Mirror Lorca = “bad” but Mirror Philippa somehow “redeemable” even though they’re both awful murdering fascist despots. I feel like it’s really gone off the rails this past few episodes, and wayyyyy too much murders for my idea of Star Trek.

Both Lorca and Georgiou were awful murdering fascist despots in the mirror universe. The only difference, and the part that *could* make Georgiou redeemable is that Lorca was a dick in the Prime universe. As Burham told him: if he had asked for help, they would have helped him. Instead, Lorca played them. Plus, I think the fact that Burnham saved Georgiou was less about redeeming Georgiou and more about Burnham trying to redeem herself.
Now I don't think the Federation is going to like Georgiou's methods on winning the war but as Eric F posted, the question is how far will the Federation go. This was one of the questions DS9 asked and not everyone liked the answers.

Yeah, show had a rough start. Out of the first nine, I thought 3 were good (with Into the Forest being a major jump in quality) and every episode of this second half of the season has been great.
I too was hoping for a time jump to bring back Dr Culber, but maybe we can get something from the MU.
And was the green sparkly that landed on Tilly?

Show is spectacular. Gonna miss Lorca, he was a great character.
He was stabbed through the heart with a sword then his body was incinerated by what looked like a small star. That said, I could certainly see them bringing him back through some mycelial network shenanigans though. Such as......................
In TV and movies you can be Hitler bad, but if you have charisma, and do one good deed it could even the ledger for all the previous actions. I do think though that Burnham saving Georgiu does make some sense within the narrative of the story. And and Lorca is clearly not dead.

Once it found its footing, after the first few episodes, it turned into one of the best things I've watched this past year.

This week's episode was really great. I like the apocalyptic feel of the show right now... Looking forward to the season finale.

I grew to hate the Mirror Universe episodes on Deep Space Nine, they did all the characters as parodies instead of true reflections.
This feels like they're truly imagining how the characters would be different, and also making us wonder how well we would do seeing as how Lorca was able to last so long in our universe without being detected.
