Yeah they seem to be telegraphing Roy taking over the team. Would be a great fit.

I like Nate and Jade, but that doesn’t absolve him of what he did to Ted and Richmond. Ted will likely forgive him after Rupert dumps him, but that doesn’t mean the rest should. Same, I definitely don’t think he should go back to Richmond. If he did, seems like he should go back to kit boy with Will as his boss.

Haven’t watched any episodes this season. Waiting to binge all at once.

But from comments online, the final season took a big step back?

Is this true??

It started focusing on some boring side stories that no one truly cares about. Still worth watching for the rest.

Well this was a bit harsh. Sure, I hated Zava. He was the show's cousin Oliver. Thankfully he was gone as fast as he arrived. I like Nate's storyline. A lot. It's really sweet. And yes, I agree Roy hasn't been given much to do this season. But that has gotten better. Again, the first few episodes were just o.k. But far from terrible. Those last four though were sublime.

Whose cousin Oliver? Only bad Oliver that pops into my head is from The OC, and that character was in a whole different league than Zava (figuratively and literally ).

It was definitely over the top harsh, but it did bring up something that I noticed this season. In previous seasons I was always surprised when an episode ended because I couldn't believe how fast it flew by. But during the last handful of episodes I will occasionally pause to see how much is left because it feels like it should have ended already. Again, I still enjoy the show, but that is a subtle change in my experience watching it that I think illustrates the difference in this season: relatively boring/irrelevant threads are being unnecessarily drawn out.

Re: Ted Lasso (Apple TV +) -- S: Jason Sudeikis -- From the creator of Scrubs

Danny and Van Damme had me rolling.

… and Jamie’s gift to Roy.

“You owe me another pound. Making me think it is just like you saying it.”

Oh and when Jade asked Nate if he wanted to go Poland to help her family screw in light bulbs”… I about choked on my chips.

I liked this episode even though it didn’t have the same excitement as the last few.

I thought it was just o.k. Quite the let down from the last few episodes. There were a lot of pacing issues. And the writing was weak. I've been meaning to comment on the girl who plays Phoebe, Roy's niece. Kid actors usually make me cringe. But she's both adorable and talented. Also, I never realized what a great actor Sam Richardson was. His West African accent is flawless. My favorite line. Dumb, but I laughed out loud.

Keeley: Is Mae short for anything?

Mae: Maybe.

Keeley: Is this your place Maybe?

That’s almost as bad as the guy who is reviewing the season for AV Club who complains almost every episode about there not being enough soccer.

Loved National team Danny Rojas

The tone of this episode was weird as fuck. All the music playing over scenes was just so weird.

Re: Ted Lasso (Apple TV +) -- S: Jason Sudeikis -- From the creator of Scrubs

Obviously we know why Nate quit but having it happen off screen, between episodes was a strange choice. Gave up a high paying job of his dream because his boss is a creep, which he already knew?

The writers clearly didn't know what to do with Keeley this season. Just a big 360 back to where she started and apparently her business isn't at all profitable otherwise she wouldn't need constant funding.

It was somewhat odd not to show exactly what happened, but I think the strong implication was that Nate quit because he wasn't comfortable being pressured by his boss to cheat on his girlfriend. He knew Rupert was a creep, but once Rupert wanted him to be the same kind of creep, it was a bridge too far for Nate.

The whole Keeley subplot has been the worst part of this season, for sure. I'm sure we as viewers were supposed to feel bad for Keeley when NJPR was being shut down, but I just felt relieved. And then I felt annoyed when Rebecca decided to fund her because that meant NJPR will keep going. I doubt I'm the only one who felt that way and I don't think that's the reaction the show was hoping for.

And I think everyone wants Roy with the teacher but for him to fall back in with her seems like a step back for the nice arc his character has had this season.

I really liked it and thought there were a lot of funny moments this week.

"Rebecca, I hate to break it to you, but all those children are DEAD!" had me

I thought the same thing the first few times we saw her and those thoughts were reinforced when she was back for the party. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who noticed her very good acting talent.

Her thinking for a minute after Jamie said he replaced the E with a U on Roy's jersey, then asking for swear money was well done.

Re: Ted Lasso (Apple TV +) -- S: Jason Sudeikis -- From the creator of Scrubs

So in all the press for the beginning of this season they have Ben very coy about this being the end. However, it’s certainly feeling like loose ends are getting tied up. There’s probably some band analogy since the show is show big on them, but I’m wondering if it’s a 2 and done without telling anybody. Good night, that’s it!

If so, I suspect next episode would be to win it all (or on the brink), with the following episode seeing Ted leaving and all the goodbyes.

Has another season been announced yet?

Really feels like they’re gonna need more.

Re: Ted Lasso (Apple TV +) -- S: Jason Sudeikis -- From the creator of Scrubs

Sudeikis was on the Rich Eisen show a couple of weeks ago and said this was intended to be the end. But they also didn't realize it would be so successful. He said something to the effect that they would sit down at some point later in the year, and talk out ideas and then decide if there was more worthwhile story to tell or not.

Well if it ends here it isn’t much different from the way the Sopranos ended.

We just watched it and I couldn’t tell you if I saw Ted in the final episode.
