Great run. Solid 3 seasons. Regardless of last episode. Just a show that I will rewatch many times.

I'm wondering if Rebecca's decision would have changed if she ran into the Amsterdam guy earlier. A fitting end if this was the series finale, even if it does leave some stories open for more.

While the first half of this season was not great, it was a very fitting finale to a very enjoyable series.

Only way it should have ended. It was perfect. Had bits of everything that made this show so great. 2nd all time series finales behind Six Feet Under. Just marvelous.

Seems like it was a pretty sad ending for Ted. They implied that things between the wife and the new guy were not great with how he was acting during the match but they never solidified if he was still around. So Ted ends up back home to an ex still dating their former couples counselor, coaching a youth soccer team. Rather than being the highest paid English football coach in the league and potentially getting better custody with his son. Even the look he gave in the last shot of the show was not great. He deserved a more directly happy ending rather than implied future happiness.

1. Was she someone we've seen before? I assumed just a random fan who was with the guy that got hit.
2. We had the same question. IIRC he's the guy who was chasing Beard around in the Beard After Hours episode last season. The BF of the woman in red he met at a club.

So now that the show ended I can learn things like: Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) was also Septa Unella in Game of Thrones. Shame on me for not knowing that. Also her first professional acting role was as stripper Jenny Turbot in an episode of the BBC comedy series Coupling (think Friends, but funny). This was one of my and my wife's favorite comedies, right up there with Ted Lasso.

One connection I haven't heard mentioned is that the symbol of "Total Football" Johan Cruyff was nicknamed The Flying Dutchman. Ted "invented" Total Football (which saved Richmond's season) as Rebecca met what turned out to be her own flying Dutchman.
