We are definitely going to see him defending himself in jail and beating up attackers before his eventual release.

But that's the whole point of the show. Johnny was a villain until the final moments of the original Karate Kid movie. It's all about redemption and moving on from the past.

Kreese has been pretty humbled since he was hot shit back in the 80s. And while he's an asshole, I don't think he would have beaten up someone like Silver did (who is a full-on psychopath). They've been hinting at Kreese mellowing out since he reappeared.

Loved Season 4, btw. I cannot believe this show works as well as it does but it is easily the best "reboot" of any 80s property.

Kreese broke Demetri's nose 2 seasons back just because he didn't like him.

I just rewatched the scene and Dimitri goes into his dojo and tells him how he's going to be trained and that everyone has to give him personal space and then TOUCHES Kreese and tells him how his tattoo is all wrong. Hardly just because he didn't like him.

Another interesting take.

In what world do you live where assaulting a minor because he “touches” you is considered acceptable?

You’ve got to wonder about Demetri’s parents.

In Cobra Kai/Karate Kid world, a karate beat down is just how you say hello.

I hated seeing him pop back up. But that dress did help to make up for it!

Paul Walter Hauser was only good in Richard Jewell. I have not cared about any of his other acting appearances, especially here.

I didn't mind him in Cruella.

Stingray was in like 5 scenes and then got the shit kicked out of him. I think it was okay (and a good plot move too).

Just finished it. While it wasn't as good as previous seasons, it is still awesome. Rarely does a show lean so much into how absolutely cheesy it is and get away with it. It definitely had some stupid moments but also some good stuff. Looking forward to S5.

Re: Cobra Kai (Netflix) -- Season 4 Thread -- Premieres 12/31/21

Good season. Love the better choreographed fight scenes during the tournament.

Good sub plot with the LaPusso brother being a bully.

Love the reference to Daniel blowing his money going to Okinawa and then blowing it again on a bonsai store

Was hoping to see karate’s bad boy Mike Barnes haha, but maybe he’ll join Silver next season as part of the franchising plan.

And I actually want to see a Hilary Swank cameo. As much as the 4th movie sucked, it’s still canon. But the Jackie Chan version is not.

He'll be back for sure. But to do that would be super contrived.

Also... not all Mexican dads need to end up being in a drug cartel.

I had no idea "The Moment of Truth" song was a Survivor song. Never heard it before!

I thought it was an original, new song created for this season

Re: Cobra Kai (Netflix) -- Season 4 Thread -- Premieres 12/31/21

In these past two weeks since January 1, I've watched all four seasons for the first time. I just wrapped the season four finale and am eager for what's to come.

I am absolutely blown away. I can't believe it was made in the first place, I can't believe it has more to come, and I can't believe it's so good.

This show is an incredible gift. Love it.

Re: Cobra Kai (Netflix) -- Season 4 Thread -- Premieres 12/31/21

Just finished and loved it. Karate Kid 3 is actually my favorite just for Thomas Ian Griffith. When he said he did a lot of coke back then I was rolling. The over acting makes sense now

The tournament had some hard heat hits. And speaking of it was great to see Stingray take a curb stomp too.

Now time to watch this VHS classic

I've lost count of how many times I've re-watched the Robbie/Eli match. Such great choreography & intensity!
