Yeah, that was a bit of a reach, I didn't even consider it till I read about it then started retracing all of Adam's interactions with people other than Shauna. But obviously he's not just a random guy who started an affair with Shauna for no reason.
I was wondering if that was Shauna's daughter she was preggers with in the wilderness, but the math doesn't add up.

Rolled through the first 5 episodes of this. It’s really goood stuff.
I can see why it’s getting nominated for awards. It is confusing trying to figure out which kid is which adult at times early on, but this is riveting and exciting.
I agree with Decker, can’t the believe the Christina Ricci lookalike isn’t playing the young her.
They must have loved the young Ricci girl who looks nothing like her. This will be a nice show to have through early January along with Dexter.
Now that Succession is over, showtime has the floor and they are killing it (literally) this fall with these two shows.

While that's good news and I'll keep watching, the story of the team in the Canadian wilderness is finite; we know who survives. I just hope that there aren't tangents introduced (Lost, I'm looking in your direction) to pad out the story and extend it multiple seasons beyond what's necessary.

WTF is up with Misty? Now holding the reporter hostage in her basement?
And what was going on at the very end? It was too dark for me to make it out.

Yeah this was a set up episode, not much happens and not all that great.
I think you mean Misty, the Ricci character. I couldn’t tell much on the dark part. I think it was done that way on purpose.

I like the show but the show has not been as crazy yet as I suspected. I think that there will be a certain number of that are just "missing" and not confirmed dead so they could show up.

Someone did a freeze-frame on Jackie's journal, and under "Movie Characters I'd like to be", she lists Rose from Titanic, Torrance from Bring it On, and Janey from American Beauty; all movies that came out after their wilderness ordeal.
Sloppiness from the producers, or a clue that Jackie does come back?

If they’re already doing a Season 2, I assume we will see the whole 19 months they were missing.
I can’t recall them saying how long they’ve been lost since the first few episodes

Oh, I don't think there's an "adult Jackie" character (although I'm not 100% sure of that), but I'm just saying it's also not certain that Jackie doesn't make it back from the wilderness either. As in, either her demise or at least disappearance happens in New Jersey, afterwards.

I read somewhere that this may be a 5-season show. They won't get to Winter by the end of the first season.

How could it run five seasons? By the end, all the soccer team girls will look as old as Ben Platt in Dear Evan Hansen.

Well this show feels like a Limited Series. Kind of like Homeland, there is only so much mystery to support the opening premise. LOST is the exception, no longer the rule.

Five seasons does seem a little long for a closed-end concept (at least the 90s part of the show is). Did all the actors and actresses, especially the "names", sign on expecting a long time gig? That's long been the complaint about TV series work, from Shelley Long to Constance Wu, not being able to do all the projects they want 'cuz they're roped in for the long haul.

Just binged this and caught up. This is right up my alley. The brief flash forward they show in an early episode of the winter and Misty being the leader of some tribe bleeding out one of the girls and eating her is probably where the next few seasons are headed. They've only got through maybe 1-3 months of the plane crash timeline. At this pace the whole crash timeline would take at least 5 seasons to get through. The present isn't as interesting, but I do think they picked some great actors. So while some of the material isn't as good, they elevate it. Except the guy that plays cop Kevin. There's no way that straight laced narc was ever an emo kid lol.
Think it's pretty obvious Tai's kid is seeing her through the window at night. "The other one" meaning the other mom that's a savage climbing trees and eating dirt.
I also figured out pretty early on Tai's redheaded girlfriend in the past was going to get eaten by a wolf. That was some pretty heavy handed foreshadowing.
This show has a lot of potential. I just hope they have enough current timeline stuff fleshed out in their brainstorming to keep it from ending up like all the other shows people have listed above. I have no worries about the past. That shit is interesting as hell.

Looks like you were right. I did enjoy the almost burning her alive part. But I had figured there was no chance she's survive that. I'm actually quite surprised the ending went down like it did this week. I knew the plane wasn't going to save them but I was almost sure the church girl was the one they murdered in the winter flash forward.

Yellowjackets is really only half the work given the timeline and 10 episode seasons, so the shooting schedule is probably pretty good for this. But I guess if you are a child actor, and you have an adult actor, you really are stuck since you're not getting killed off in the woods...
