Re: Survivor 46 (CBS) Premieres 2/28/24
Ugh! How do these players make it through the screening every season who obviously will be horrible players and have no chance at winning??? Jess is one of the worst players in recent memory. And Jelinsky? Oh my god. I can't believe someone on his team didn't punch him in the face.
The one interesting bit of casting is the guy from India who sounds like he immigrated to the US just so he could be on this show. He seems super intense and a little bit TOO into the game. On the other hand his skills living as a 'slum dog' in India seem to be helping him out on the show. He knows his way around bamboo and eats ants! Just don't let him near the machete. I feel like he might kill one of his team members the next time they lose the challenge.

In the case of Jess I am not sure how you can screen for someone who ends up having sleep issues. It's the equivalent of a test control study giving 20 people with a similiar age and medical history a pill to take and 19 people are just fine and 1 get's rashes.

So glad they got rid of Jelinsky. When he kept saying "we" quit the water challenge, that look on the ex-football player's face... Jelinksy didn't even really help with the puzzle, just mostly handed the pieces to Jes. Never have seen someone fold like he did on the torch/extra votes mission. But, he was a Survivor god in his own mind. 😄
You could get a buzz if you took a drink every time someone says, "people who look like me."

Seems as if every viewer and contestant knew who was being voted out except for the one being voted out. It was hard to keep a straight face when Jelinksy said he was blindsided.

Has any contestant on Survivor ever had a worse first three days? He lost the first challenge, gave up on the water, folded in the card bluffing game, told his tribe that he folded, bungled the immunity challenge puzzle, blamed his quitting on his partner in the Tribal and says he was blindsided and had felt too comfortable. It’s really beyond comprehension. Worst contestant ever.

Glad he's gone. Need a few more of these annoying, generic, instantly forgettable people to go. Basically just leave Venus and the intense Indian guy and hopefully a few other personalities emerge.

This season's contestants are an emotional train wreck. Three or four of these types have popped up every season, but I can't recall the last time we had virtually the whole cast consisting of these types. Probst and the casting directors have really over-compensated in their effort to be diverse.

I've always liked this show and I love competition shows... but man, this season's cast has me not even wanting to watch at all. The first episode was cringe and I'm not sure I'll even bother anymore. It feels like they're going overboard on diversity --- fine, you want a face that matches every race, cool. But now they're intentionally (or un-intentionally) picking peole with mental health disorders? Picking people that are so clearly out of shape or can't compete in physically challenging tasks? Enough already.

Bhanu, Venus, and Liz are all very annoying. Soda isn't far behind.
And although the guy seems likable enough, please stop with the multiple Taylor Swift mentions every episode. You sound like a junior high girl.

Interesting thing about Soda is she was born a few weeks after that episode airred,it's highly like the show inspired her name.

That was the most unintentionally hilarious episode of Survivor I've seen in a while.
Kintie is a mermaid dragon who is secretly controlling their whole tribe???? Am I watching the same show he is on? Even the best editing couldn't hide this if its really happening.
How is it possible this Bhanu considers himself a 'superfan' who grew up watching the show and moved to the US just to be on it and he is so completely clueless about: the rules of the game, duplicity, alliances, idols, challenges, women (in general) and even what the goal is.
And since when are Kenny Rogers song lyrics an ancient proverb?
"I just want to be the winner of a million hearts" I swear if Sia gives him any goddamn money....

I guess that tracks. He must specialize in melodrama because he is way over the top. Disappointing that this is what CBS's stupid diversity quotas have brought things to....

Even with no quota where half the contestants are non white, someone like Bhanu with this big of a personality and energy would be at the top of the shows casting pile or viewed as cringe and never cast.

Dude is an actor. A little disappointing to realize it's an act.
Literally an actor.

Ugh. I've watched Survivor every season as they've aired since Season 1. I am really checking out on this season. These 90 or 120 minute episodes are just drudgery to get through. I hope they go back to 60 minute episodes.

So, is this portrayal choice for Bhauna, if he is actually acting, a smart move? Seems stupid to me.
I ended up with him in the pool and I have been wanting him gone since the first episode. Is that a first?
