finally got this month's EGM... at first I was disappointed that they had no PSP reviews in the back, but there's a whole section dedicated to it. They scored NFL Street 2 higher than I thought they would, but I was a little surprised that Twisted Metal got blasted for not being innovative. As TM2 was my favorite in the series (Black was a little too dark for me), I'm loving that game, though I'm not brave enough to go online yet. And though I still stink at Lumines, it's pretty addicting. I just hope it's not like Mr. Driller, where after a few months of playing I still have no idea what I'm doing... Still have no time to open up Metal Gear Acid...
Are they going to come out with games that are multiplayer enabled with just one cart, like the GBA and DS have? Or is that not possible with this system?

I read on the PSP Sony forum that there was at least one game that only required a single copy to run a multiplayer game, the title name isnt coming back to me right now. But Im certain that it is possible. However I bet its unlikely to have to transmit that much game data to run the game would be difficult.

Does anyone have any tips for how to score high like that? I can barely break 35,000 points. I'm assuming I just don't know how to pull off the big combos.

Has anyone had this problem with Lumines? I'll play for a while and unlock some new skins in challenge mode, and then after it saves I'll go into skin mode and the new skins won't be there. This has happened twice to me so far. It's very frusterating to play for an hour or so and find out that the new skins you supposedly unlocked aren't really there.

I would also appreciate some tips for Lumines. I have scored 80K and opened about 12 skins or so, but would love some tips. It seems like you really have to focus on the "jem" blocks.

Here is an interesting article at engadget concerning the possibility of Sony opening up the UMD format:
Link to story
So the control freaks at Sony might take a big step and do something smart: allow other manufacturers to use the PlayStation Portable’s Universal Media Disc (UMD) in their own devices. Other companies would not be able to play PSP games on their machines—that will be exclusive to the PSP, of course—but obviously Sony thinks they have a shot at making the UMD a popular format for music and videos on portable devices. They’d be opening up the format to potential piracy (since they’d inevitably have less control over the discs’ use, as well as their manufacture and distribution), but loosening the reins is really the only way they’re going to put the “universal” in “Universal Media Disc,” right? If they really want to impress they’d take the next logical step and sell UMD recorders that would let consumers burn their own movies, music, and yes, even games to the discs, but we probably shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves.

It will take more then simply allowing other vendors to produce the medium to make the UMD format. Sony would need to truely open the medium allowing other vendors to not only produce discs, but also implement the necesary hardware in their devices royalty free. Without that, there is slim to none chance of it being taken seriously.

I dont know if this has been asked already but, the PSP UMD Movies, such as Spider-Man 2 and the others coming soon, do they have any special features on them, as most DVDs do, or is it just the movie plain and simple?

I would be in favor of a UMD writer in the market. I think, it would be sweet to ultilize the 1.8 gig for movies/music/etc and make the PSP even better. As for privacy, I don't see any difference then the dvd/cd writers out now.

Doesn't iPSP do the same thing (transport iTunes playlists, but not the iTunes-specific tracks themselves)?

Why so much fuss getting iTunes to work on a PSP which can only hold 250 songs (20 or so CD's)
