You can change the name that shows up on the PSP, but it was my understanding that the file name had to be in the M0000000.mp4 format. If there's a way to rename the file itself so that you can recognize it when it's stored on your computer, please let me know...

Can anyone give me links to how to make movies for a PDA? (for example, MOVs and AVIs of stuff I have transferred from a camcorder with family footage). (I have a Tungsten C) Also, how to make MPEGs? (I have a GBA player coming that uses CompactFlash).

By the way, doesn't help with memory stick, but a lot of PDA users are in this thread...

I cant believe how hard it is to find larger Memory Stick Duo's for the PSP. I was holding out for a 1GB stick but I just broke down and ordered a 512MB for 69.99 w/ $10 rebate from local bestbuy. Every place I looked online was even sold out of those.

I just did that myself. i actually did store pickup through bestbuy.com, and when I went to pick it up, they gave me a "today only" 10% off coupon any 2 items under certain categories (computer and camera accessories being one of them). So I'm debating whether to head back and use it to buy 2 more (they had 3 left)

I have been putting the files into folders with more descriptive names. I don't think you can rename those files themselves.

Ah, but when you put it on your memory stick, you need to put everything under one directory, right? I tried to create folders for videos (like you can do for photos) and it didn't work...

What I do is I store everything under a descriptive file name and then when I copy it over to my PSP, I rename them to the proper naming convention there. It's not that big of a deal. If you're uneasy with that, I'm sure there is either a utility out there that automates the process for you or someone will have one soon. If the reason you want the name just so you can see what you have and what you can erase, just erase the file within the PSP's menus. You can hit triangle on any video file and it will bring up further options including a delete.

Yea I'm doing the same thing, havent gone and picked it up yet but it says ready for pickup. The coupon sounds good, Im betting you could easily turn these around on Ebay for a profit I found one selling for 74.99 w/ $8 in shipping. I think the PSP has definetly caused a run on the Duo cards they are in short suppply right now.

I wanted one to try out moving video files and I knew 32MB wasnt going to be pick enough so Im looking forward to trying it out tonight!

For those looking for the 1GB Memory Stick Duo Pro mWave is estimating arrival of the San Disk one this Friday on 4/1/05. The price is $110.78. I'm hoping this is not a cruel April Fools joke.

Possible stupid question. Do the headphones adjust at all? I seem to have a lot more cord on the right side then the left. The connector in the middle doesn't seem like it lets out any slack......

I was using descriptive folders on the PC to know what files were what. As you found out, can not have subfolders on the PSP within the videos folder.

At least the PSP shows the proper name when looking at the files through the interface.

And JaxComet, the headphones do not adjust. They are supposed to have on longer side. I don't like headphones with this style design and have been using my wife's iPod headphones (which she doesn't like).

It finally got delivered, and I was relieved and thrilled to see no dead pixels. But I didn't realize a USB cable wasn't included in the bundle, so I couldn't transfer any videos that I wanted to test out. Anybody know a good/cheap place to get a USB-A to mini-B cable? What prices should I expect?

You can just buy a "PSP Link cable" at any game store, they're about $4.99.

Or if you have a card reader, you can just put the memory stick in that

$5-$10 perhaps even cheaper if you look around.

Amazon has the SanDisk 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo Card for $122.99 with free shipping and no crappy rebate you will have trouble getting.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...068479-6630424

That's $7.00 dollars cheaper then a new DS from Costco. Seriously though, how many of you that have bought a PSP already had 1 GB card in some other medium (SD, CF etc. )then memory stick? Oh how I loath memory sticks.

Here's the 512mb one for $57.19 but you will have to do a $15 rebate to get that price:

Ok, went to Amazon and ordered it. It's not in stock, but they will ship first come first serve. Unfortunately, my order confirmation states that it won't ship until May 5-May 21. I don't know if that's a placeholder or not, but geez, that's more than a month away. I guess no tax helps, but if I find one locally before then, I guess I'm cancelling. Not to mention that the 2 gig is supposed to come out in June, anyway.

That will be a lot easier to prove than to disprove. I played an hour and 15 minutes straight the other night. Got over 250,000 points though.
