Well, if the devs say CoD2's supposed to run at 60fps, maybe they're talking about the finished game, because this demo I played sure as hell was not.

And I'm sure BB didn't set up the display properly - but even if they did, I doubt it could touch my PCs 1600x1200 resolution.

And I'm not saying the 360's now out of the question, I'm just going to wait a little longer - maybe for its first price drop, or when they have more games that are actually made for the 360, specifically.

You're right about the resolution not being as high as your computer monitor. The game will run at 720p on the 360.

Although you won't be able to run it with the same effects enabled and have the same frame rate as the final product without buying a new video card.

You'll also need to get a time machine to buy a card that doesn't exist yet. :P

Personally for me, being able to use my 51" HDTV and home theater seals the deal in terms of quality.

I haven't seen the Kiosk setup demo's, but from what I heard all of the demos are from much earlier builds, and none of them have AA enabled.

I have seen COD2 running on a Xbox360, but that was a very early debug build of the game, and it ran and looked pretty bad. I am sure that by now it has gotten much better.

I have also seen a beta of PGR3 being played, and it was running perfectly smooth, looked like a constant 60fps.

I may of preordered a system 6+ months ago but all this shortage talk has even me concerned. It's getting out of control. My one friend opted not to get a system right away and my other buddy waited until about 2 weeks ago to try and reserve one. I'm confident that I'll have a system but I had hoped my buddies would be joining me in taking the big plunge.

Edited To Add:
I just called my local Gamestop to get a little more info about the launch. I asked if they knew how many systems they were getting at launch. He told me that they were not allowed to give that information out. He asked if I had a preorder and when I put my preorder in. I told him that I put him money down in May. He told me that I would be getting one in the first week but said nothing about launch day. He said that anyone that preordered after June will not be geting until 2 weeks after launch at my store. He said that I would be getting a call in about 10 days telling me more about when I could pick my system up. I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer for more info.

I stopped by my neighborhood Gamestop and saw they had a 360 on display. They had it hooked to a Samsung LCD. The demo of Call of Duty was on and it looked incredible. I think some on this forum stated that they were no impressed with the graphics. Bullcrap!!! for a console this is a big leap in clarity, This bring it up to at least a mid-range PC level.

Someone sell me on Condemned. I've been itching to add another title to my launch day festivities and I've been leaning towards this one.

That appears like it could be a launch list...I haven't head a thing about Dynasty Warriors though.

Condmened looks EXTREMELY good. They are saying it really uses next-gen technology. IT seems like it could be slow...lots of investigating and what not. However, I have it on pre-order. It looks extremely good to me.

Anyone read 23 eerie parallels between Xbox 360 and the Sega Dreamcast. yet?

It's just something to fill up a few pages and stir people up but some of the points are kinda amusing.

Funny they claim the PS3 is a far superior console, based on a bunch of typical Sony cutscenes, as well as trying to pass prerendered footage as realtime. Sony hasn't shown me shit. Show me some gameplay, and then perhaps I'll be impressed. I've seen nothing that shows me the PS3 is superior to the Xbox 360, much less far superior.

Since Xbox 360 has 3 3.2 mhz processors, does it not mean then that it should be much faster and and can provide us with better games than even the latest and best PCs, even though they may have a single > 4mhz processor?

The Xbox 360 only has 1 3.2 Ghz CPU. The single CPU has three cores that can be assigned tasks so it's very efficient.

The GPU is ahead of what's currently available for PC.

Considering launch games look as good as current gen PC games and most are only running on 1 core... IMO we haven't really seen what next gen consoles are capable of yet. It should be impressive though.

I just got a call from my friend who is the manager at my local
EB and he told me that yes, there is infact going to be a shortage of 360s on launch. He was contacted by a MS rep which told him that they were only going to receive half of the amount of consoles that they were originally going to get. He then told me that their store was originally going to receive 32 systems but now they were only getting 16. Being that I have already paid off my 360, I was with out a doubt going to receive a system as long as I was able to pick it up within 24 hours. Before this shortage, people who had pre ordered had 48 hours to pick up their system, but now, they were instructed to only wait 24 hours and then they had to sell it to next in line. I believe they are required to sell every system they receive with in the 24 hour period.
What really sucks is that my wife's due date for my baby girl is on the 22nd as well. If by chance it actually happens on that date and I can't make it, I will be sending a friend to pick it up.

I was going to pick one up at Best Buy, but if there's a shortage of these, then I'll wait and get one next year.

Oh geez.
I'm pretty thankful that I preordered ages ago and that I was able to pay it off already. I'm still a bit worried but if they don't call me to say I'm getting one on launch day I will be waiting at Wal-Mart for one.

So, you were going to get one...but now youmay wait a year. Doesn't make sense to me.

I have mine pre-ordered at GameRush...hopefully there are no issues with mine (I was the first on the list). I may actually go pay it off if that makes a difference.

The less systems a store gets in, the less likely I am to go out to find one. I'll let everyone else fight over what few systems will be available and just get one later.

:nods:

Although they're only in bundles, and the 'sign-in' link to preview the bundles isn't working right now. As long as the bundles are reasonable, I'm game.

Here's a screengrab I made of the e-mail I got.

Yeah, I wonder what the bundle will be at Best Buy. "Sports bundle"....I'm going to assume Madden, Live and something else....we'll see Wednesday though. I'm glad I have my NON-bundle pre-ordered
