Only 3 games?! I thought Nintendo said 4 games every Monday just two weeks ago. http://press.nintendo.com/articles.jsp?id=10685

Guess I just inferred that from the way it was worded for the 12/4 release. Weak.

I hear MM is great though and well worth the $6. True or false, people?

Yeah, I put in probably 100 hours into that game. It has great replay value if I remember correctly. But I haven't played it in 16 years, so I hope I'm not disappointed with my memories. But for $6 it is well worth it.

I haven't played it since it was released, but at the time I loved that game. It was one of the first racing games I can remember playing that had a BIG focus on finding shortcuts. I remember crashing through tons of stuff to get ahead of the pack.

That's definitely one I'll be picking up if I can ever find a Wii.

Potential online nightmare: http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/18/fi...c-friend-code/
IGN's recent review of the Japanese version of Pokemon Battle Revolution reveals that the game uses "a unique 12-digit friend code, different from your Wii system number," to identify you to potential online opponents. As if that wasn't bad enough, the game has "no actual lobby where you can see how many players are currently doing battle under the various rules of play," meaning it's hard to find new people to play against.

It's not yet clear whether this system will carry over to other countries or other online-enabled Wii games, but it seems unlikely to us that Nintendo would premiere the Wii's online gameplay with a setup it didn't plan on continuing in other games. Then again, that's just us assuming again...
Comments are calming the storm by saying it has to do with the DS interactivity and this won't be true for the majority of online Wii games, but I don't see anyway to know that one way or the other yet.

Doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy yet.

Does anyone know how Elebits works with sending custom levels?

BAR was lots of fun. I haven't played it in a long time, but it was my favorite N64 racing game.

And here is where Nintendo's dogged refusal to incorporate online into anything bites them in the ass. I honestly wonder what would've happened if Xbox Live had never launched. We'd still be happy with the half-assed online we get on other sstems.

I was just playing Rayman why doesn't it fill the whole screen like other games do on a widescreen tv. Do you have to change the setting when you play this game because it looked a little squished.

True that. At least for SMW. Or any of the Super Mario Bros. games for NES.

I so hope the Wii system codes are for more than just messaging and Mii-sending. I certainly won't like having the 100 FCs I entered mean nothing when games start to roll in.

Also I wish, in addition to text messaging, we had a way to send Pictochat-esque messages. I found the urge to draw and send a penis to a "friend" overwhelming tonight.

The Forecast Channel is now up and running.

Edited to add: You must update the system before it will work.

The Forecast Channel is really nice. I like being able to see the local temp. without having to go into the actual channel.

Easy. Get an actual photo, draw a penis on it, then send it to your friend.

Worldwide weather. You can scroll out and rotate the globe. I was checking out the weather in Nouakchott, Africa earlier.

A "trial-version" of the Opera Browser will be available starting 12/22.

I wonder if this "trial-version" is a limited use free one until the "full" one releases in Spring or if it is just a public Beta and the full one will be free then too.
