Re: [It's not a Rumah] Guitar Hero: Metallica ... ?
Can someone explain if/how the double bass pedal works? I've read it works with the Rock Band drums. I've also read it doesn't work with the Rock Band drums. Is there a splitter available to make this happen? Or not happen? It's frustrating to search for these answers because the threads of information that come up are truly staggering. They all just start arguing about GH vs. RB.

Thanks. I've been wanting a second pedal. There are just some doubles that I can't hit regularly unless I get lucky with a frantic leg spasm. And even without playing GH:M I know I'm going to need that second. Too bad I have a BB gift card rather than a GameStop at the moment.

Really strange behavior -- I plan on returning mine and picking up a Twin Rocker to see if that's any better. The pedal itself is exactly the same as the stock RB2 pedal kit.

Hmm. Damn the elusive double bass. I'm probably just going to pick this up at Gamestop and give it a spin... return if necessary.
I don't understand why they just didn't configure this as a splitter with a wired connection.
However, there's a sizable thread on the Rock Band forums detailing how the Twin Rocker doesn't work with Rock Band 2.

Anyone have the problem of the notes stuttering about every 10 seconds while playing? First saw it on this game and then put in Guitar Hero III and it's doing that same thing. Anyone have a solution?

Re: [It's not a Rumah] Guitar Hero: Metallica ... ?
Ok here is a little bit of a review.
The songs are great. It is a lot of fun to play the metallica songs. I haven't played all the songs by the other artists, but so far the only one that I am really liking is Ace Of Spades. Thin Lizzy, Foo Fighters, The Sword, were all kinda boring to me.
Now the bad. I think the career mode in this game is pretty lame. First, you don't really have to play all that many songs to be able to get the achievment for finishing career mode. I started on Hard. In the other GH/RB games I can play any song in Hard and about 80% of songs on Expert. So I played For Whom The Bell Tolls in expert career and I get 4 stars. But the screen doesn't indicate anywhere in the career mode that I played it in Expert. It just shows the 5 stars from Hard. That is confusing. It also doesn't show you the scores you have gotten on the songs in career mode, again bad. So now if I 4 starred a song, I can't see the score to see how close to 5 stars I am.

Just rented it and i love it. No offense to anyone, but to bad its not a Rock Band game. I like playing the songs, but the career and online are lacking. Also, i played online with a band and got stuck with bass and there where i believe purple lines like you would see if you had to hit the bass pedal on drums going down the screen. Whats up with that. I get you have to strum, but its hard as hell to read those lines when they are so close together

I dont get what people are now complaining about the career. They made it easier to open up the playlists and not make the game such a chore to get thru.
So instead of judging you based solely on how well you do on one particular song, you are now judged based on your overall star rating. Plus you can now jump around in the playlist instead of hitting a plateau and being forced to clear songs you may not enjoy in order to progress. They did this part right.
The online still lacks, but since this is not a full GH game didnt expect any thing new. Wouldnt expect anything new until GH5.

I love the open bass notes that Neversoft incorporated as well. I wish HMX would take a cue from them. It takes practice, but adds so much more to playing bass, especially later tier songs.

I dig the open note stuff too, even though I'm not too good at it yet. And also that it's kind of hard to see when in star power.

You just have to strum without fretting any buttons. It makes the bass more challenging to play. Just takes practice.

Re: [It's not a Rumah] Guitar Hero: Metallica ... ?
Open notes are awesome, with the exception of presentation. Another column on the note highway would be much more readable to me, personally. It looks awkward to see stuff like Fight Fire With Fire's bass where you have a lot of open notes and triplet strums and a few other frets tossed in the middle. There's nothing wrong with adding more columns, people! It's discouraging because I know I can hit it if they all were circles, even with the non-fretting on open notes.
The career mode is awesome since you don't have to play every song to beat it. I really enjoyed playing only 2-3 songs per tier to unlock the next group not only for quicker achievements, but so that I didn't have to play ones I don't care for. Turn The Page is horrible on everything. Orion is awesome on everything. Well, maybe not on vocals.
The lax timing window on notes is somewhat cool. I like perfecting solos and that's one of the things I think Neversoft added to the franchise that sets it apart from other music games. While there might be a wall of notes, it's still hittable. Rock Band's is a tighter timing window, and most other music games incorporate a Perfect/Great/Good/Poor/Miss system that gives more points for better timing. I'd honestly rather have that in Guitar Hero so you can still pass things but scoring would be totally different.
Purple rope sections are awesome because you don't have to strum, but coupled with the HOPO window, make it too easy to mash. No strumming but requiring more precise fret hits and punishing pressing wrong fret buttons (whether by hitting one color instead of another or hitting a fret when there should not be one at all) would greatly increase the challenge of the sections, while still retaining the ability to tap.
I like GH:M, but I also like RockRev and a ton of other rhythm games.I'd say it's better than RockRev and right around the GH2 level. It's surprising how much I hated World Tour and how much this doesn't remind me of it.

London, 3rd April - It’s time to break free from the cords and perform like a true rock star with music games on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft!
Today, Microsoft announced that Activision’s “Guitar Hero® Metallica®” and MTV’s “Rock Band 2” will be among the first music titles to support the celebrated “Lips” wireless microphones.
Last year, Microsoft created the high quality wireless microphones that set the standard for music game peripherals, and teamed with iNiS to let fans around the world rock out with them on “Lips.” With the latest in motion-sensing technology and built-in LED lights that pulse to the rhythm of your performance, these microphones help Xbox 360 stand out as the home of the best music experiences.
Now these mics will help people jam like never before with other great music games on Xbox 360, first with “Guitar Hero® Metallica.” A title update this summer will also activate mic compatibility with “Rock Band 2.” Additional titles that support the “Lips” microphones will available later this year, and only on Xbox 360.

I play cards with a guy that often asks me if the big summer blockbuster game he just saw on a commercial will work on his son's Playstation. Playstation 1 that is.
