It's slim pickings to be sure, but are Yoshi's Woolly World and Splatoon not your thing? I'd mention Super Mario Maker too, but as I kind of suspected, that hasn't had a lot of staying power for me. (Admittedly, I'm kind of just assuming Woolly World is worth grabbing; I'm probably going to get it as a Christmas present for my wife, assuming she doesn't get it for my birthday.)

I just finished Woolly World the other day and it's in my top 5 Wii U games. If you like Nintendo platformers it's a must buy.

I'm not a big fan of platformers. I enjoy them occasionally, but I have plenty of them. I very rarely do any multiplayer.

I'm at least thinking about getting a $250 WiiU Splatoon/Smash Bros bundle on BF. Those are the two games my son always wants to play the demo of when we go to Target or Best Buy.

I'm thinking of selling my Wii U. I have so little time to play video games these days, and when I do it's usually something on the PS4 or Xbox One. The Wii U just can't compete.

Sold mine on eBay a couple years ago, that was surprisingly painless. I'm sure a little has changed since then but I imagine it can't be difficult to offload the system, people have been wanting a price drop for a while and second hand units seem to be the only way to achieve that.

Unless something is in the pipeline after Xenoblade Chronicles X mine will be gone as well (I have serious doubts about the new Zelda game ever making it out). So many missing franchises

Maybe we'll hear more on Thursday, although...well...

There are rumors about a Twilight Princess remaster, as well as the already-confirmed Star Fox Zero, Pokken, that whole SMT vs. FE thing, and (bleh) another Mario and Sonic Olympics game. Pikmin 4 is reportedly really close to being done, although it's unclear what platform they're targeting. I do think we'll get Zelda, although it'll probably be a Twilight Princess situation where it shows up on multiple platforms, and the Wii U version might lag behind a bit. There could be more, but I'm not expecting any real showstoppers.

I know if your Wii U breaks that Nintendo will transfer your digital purchases to a new Wii U, but do they treat it the same if you sell your Wii U and then buy a new one down the road?

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

Picked up some Wii U games at the Target B2G1 sale. Got the Yoshi's Woolly World bundle, Super Mario Maker, and Bayonetta 2. I also used the 10% off coupon from the wish list app and 5% Red Card, so it came out to around $35/game after taxes. I figured that would be close enough to the Best Buy deal w/GCU, assuming they do one.

Better late than never! (...although at this point, it's pretty close!) Minecraft is listed in PEGI's database as getting a release on the Wii U in Europe on December 11th. I'm guessing we'll hear something about that in tomorrow's Direct.

That's interesting given MS owns it now. I guess they have to earn back that 2.5b somehow.

In the same way you can use MS Office on your iPad or Mac, I think the goal is ubiquity rather than exclusivity.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

So some of the things that came from today's Nintendo Direct:

1. Obviously, Cloud will be on the Wii U and the 3DS versions of Smash Bros.

2. Super Smash Bros.-specific Nintendo Direct set to air in December.

3. The new Legend of Zelda game for Wii U is coming in 2016.

4. Twilight Princess HD has been confirmed, along with a new Amiibo figure that works with that next Zelda game.

5. Star Fox Zero is now slated for release in April.

6. Mother 3 is getting a Wii U re-release, but only in Japan.

7. Wireless-enabled versions of Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow are coming to 3DS.

8. The Dragon Quest VII and Dragon Quest VIII 3DS remakes are coming to the West.

I think the only games I'm looking forward to is the new Star Fox and Zelda Wii U. How about everyone else?

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

The Twilight Princess HD preorder is up at Best Buy. $60 for an HD version of a launch Wii game seems a little steep, even if it does come with an amiibo.

...especially since it sure doesn't look like much time or effort went into this "remaster". I never did finish it in the Wii, though, so I still might be in (especially since there won't be mandatory waggle).

Doesn't look much different. What I'd most look forward to is playing with the pro controller instead of the motion controls.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

I gave up after about 6 hours. Got tired of the waggle. Skyward Sword annoyed me much faster. Only made it 3 hours into that one. Not sure I'd want to give either a second chance though, pro controller support or not.

All of my kids were clamoring over this announcement... guess we'll be getting all three (we have a 3DS and two 2DSs). Should be fun for them the share.

There will be a Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale for all eShop games.

http://www.siliconera.com/2015/11/13...ay-eshop-sale/

Nintendo has announced a Nintendo eShop Cyber Deals sale event that will cover Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and beyond. At 9am PT on November 25, both the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U eShops will have sales with up to 50% taken off of the price of what are being called the storefronts’ “best-reviewed” games.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

That's a Black Friday deal I could get behind, safely shopping from the comfort of my couch.

Also, just wanted to say my wife bought that new Yoshi game and that is just fantastic. We had some friends over this weekend that aren't hardcore gamers, we we all took turns playing and everyone had a blast. My wife and her friend were going nuts over all the little knitting/crocheting in-jokes all over the game. This is the type of game that makes it worth buying systems like the WiiU.
