Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

No stores in nyc and nj seem to have the mario and luigi bundle in stock and the online store is out of stock also. Strange as bestbuy and target have them in stock.

Anyone hear of any gamestops in different states with these in stock? I tried calling corporate and after 2 calls and 15-20 minute hold times I gave up.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

I'm down. I played the crap out of the original missions and even more on the first DLC. I've probably sank 80 hours into this game.

I just wish they had some original DLC, not just reworking existing maps. Give me a whole new area for the single player campaign along with the challenges to go with it. That's easily worth $10 or so bucks.

I went and bit on the new Mario Wii U wiimote, looks really slick and I'll probably cave and get the Luigi on as well.

I have an extra Wii U System manual/Guide/paperwork. Shoot me a pm if you need it for completion purposes.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

past couple weekends played wii party u with some friends (between 5 and 9 of us at all times, formed teams or took turns).

the game is a lot of fun with a group of people, but some of the minigames and "house party" games are way too simple and childish. it's definitely a game that almost anyone can jump in on. there really isn't much strategy. worth $50? no. but with the "free" wii motion plus controller, i don't regret the purchase.

after seeing the new mario 3d world screenshots, im so ready!

Ugh, Lego Marvel doesn't have pro controller support. That should be mandatory for any game that isn't making exclusive use of the touchpad.

Oh Nintendo...

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/bso27e3Inzc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

But really, it does get the point across to the masses I guess. It sure does make me cringe though.

I would've made the Console more obvious. It's still in the background while the gamepad is front and center. People will still think it's an add on to the Wii!

Even with the games included, they're idiots if they think people will pay the same price for a U as they would for a PS4.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

I've seen quite a few commercials for the Wii U.

On another note. I played Sonic Lost Word...hated it. It was really frustrating.

I might have to do that. It'll give me an excuse for another 3DS game...as if I need one.

Never has it occurred to me to give a WiiU (or any console) as a "gift"... if at all, I'd buy one for myself.

The new Nintendo Direct was pretty awesome. I was stoked for Super Mario 3D World before...but it's crazy how good it looks. Seems like it's packed with content.

8+ Stages! Nice.

But why do I feel like he's talking to me like a 4 year old?

Seriously.

The Wii U has some great games with some of the best Nintendo characters out. It's still a small(ish) selection but it's gotten much better from the launch time. And the price dropped for the bundle, and there are new games bundled now. The Wii U is also compatible with the Wii games and add-ons (controllers, Wii Fit pad, etc.) which is a good point.

They suggest a PS4 and X-BOX One would make better gifts. Well, the PS4 is not backwards compatible. And the launch games seem like a total dud. And it sounds like Sony won't be ready to sell downloads of PS3 titles or 4K movies or any of the other main selling points they want to market until next year. Plus, some people prefer Nintendo games. For example, I think Nintendo makes the best games, but I love a lot of the games Sony releases as well. But I'm not interested in the games X-BOX systems carry. So if I got an X-BOX it would be redundant as I wouldn't ever use the system. So how could CNET say that a Wii U is a total dud?

Speaking of 'gift-giving', I think the Wii U is probably the more gift-friendly for people who already owned a Wii, so I disagree with their 'tech expert'. More people would probably like it as such because of the better current game selection than the two new systems, which are only so popular as pre-orders and as 'gift ideas' because they are brand new systems from popular companies. Both systems will do amazingly well. I want a PS4 too, but to say the Wii U fails next to them is a bit silly, IMHO.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

It all hinges on one argument though... third party support. The WiiU is not, and likely never will be a system that a core gamer or tech head can survive on alone. Like the Wii, it's a great complimentary system just for first party games.

The whole piece is directed at a tech person so yeah, the WiiU is not for them.

For those looking to play the free Wii Fit U, the Fit Meter is in stock at Amazon right now. They are kind of hard to find in stores locally.

Super Mario got a 9.6 from IGN before they pulled their review.

Awesome, come on Wii U, start chugging along now. I love the system and I really don't want them to give up on it early.

Man, I got hooked on playing New Super Mario Bros. U today. Probably played for a good 3-4 hours, still have lots of ground to cover.
