I don't know, that looks like it will take up a lot of unnecessary space. Nice to see they're not charging extra for it though.

That's just a better looking cover than the exploitative butt-shot on the regular cover, also, it's only two clam-shells thick, not too bad, considering it's two games. Though we're getting both games on one disc here, right?

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Club Nintendo digital rewards have been updated for this month. The only Wii U virtual console game is the original Mario Bros. (not "Super"). (Edit - they added Kirby Super Star too.)
Super Punch-Out and NES Play Action Football are up for the Wii virtual console, if you don't mind booting in an alternate mode.
Physical rewards are pretty much as non-existent as they've been for a long, long while.
That's in Europe. The American cover (or at least the one listed on GameStop, Amazon, Nintendo.com, etc.) just says "Bonus Bayonetta Game Included", without making mention of a separate disc or it even being physical. I'm sure it will be on a separate, physical disc on these shores, but I don't think that's been definitively, 100% confirmed. As far as I know, both games are being packaged in a single, traditional width case over here, unlike the European release.
The original word was that Bayonetta would be downloadable from the eShop for free for those of us in North America getting Bayonetta 2, then a couple reps said it'd be a physical release (like the rest of the world). I don't know if Nintendo has flat-out, unambiguously said (outside of reps replying to emails/message board posts/whatever) that it'll be a physical release in the U.S. The official site mentions that the original game has been upgraded and is included, but it doesn't go into any detail. There's not been a press release, something on an official Nintendo site, etc. about precisely how the original Bayonetta will be included.

So what are the holes and mount on the back of the wiiu tablet for anyway? I figured they'd release an upgraded battery pack or some other accessory by now, but nothing (and the upgraded battery just replaced the old one).

LOL. So probably within a week or two of smash bros. Genius!

Watch Dogs actually seems like the perfect game for the Wii U given the GamePad. I was going to pick up Watch Dogs eventually...maybe I'll spring for the Wii U version instead.
But yeah, the timing of the release seemed a bit misguided.

I don't think it'll be worth the technical shortcomings in the game itself. No offense to the Wii U but Ubi ports haven't exactly been stellar thus far.

Mario Kart 8
Super Mario 3D World
Pikmin 3
If you didn't play Wind Waker on the GameCube (or if you're up for giving it another shot!), I might give that the #3 spot instead.

Speaking of, I finally got around to playing some Watchdogs, and man that takes a long time to load some scenes. Is that going to be a bigger problem on the WiiU?

I had a lot of fun with New Super Mario Bros. U, which came with my Wii U bundle. I also really enjoy Mario Kart 8. I just bought mine so I haven't picked up many games (been working through my Wii backlog instead).

I'd put Rayman Legends over Pikmin 3, but Pikmin 3 is solid if you don't want two platformers.

Well pulled the trigger, purchased Mario Kart 8 for my first game. Figured between that and some used Wii games I've been meaning to play that should hold me off for a while.

Good choice. I would jump on the DLC too. Pre-order is only $12, and you get 16 courses and a bunch of characters and cars. The 1st half comes out in November.

Some Wii U games on sale over at Best Buy for $7.99 each
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
ZombiU
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge
Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Pro Hunts
Is it sad I'm thinking of picking up ZombiU, even though I don't have a Wii U
Wouldn't mind picking one up once they get to around $150 or so.

I bought ZombiU at launch and while it wasn't my type of game I recommend people check it out if their looking for something to play on their Wii U.
