Kalimba is on GWG in Japan. I was able to log in and grab it for free just now.

Anyway, the game is fun, and not too long.

My XBox Live 1 year membership expires in roughly 10 days.
Has anyone seen any deals?
The best I could find is CDKeys.com for $48.
https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/mem...p-xbox-one-360
Not that great considering PSN's membership was recently $40 at Amazon and Gamestop.

There another site called gamesdeal.com that has it priced at $41.99. Never heard of it myself but saw it posted over at SD. Based on some comments over there I would do some research before buying from them though.
Also of note: PSN 12 month codes are $39.99 again at Amazon

A Rakuten seller had 12 mo. cards for $38.99 (no tax, free shipping) last month, and I think that's still the best deal I've come across. The cards were from Hungary or something, but the code still worked.

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017
So, I bought a new 12 month XBox Live code from CDKeys the other day. I paid $46 for it.
Never had any problems redeeming codes from them in the past. But, low and behold, the damn code won't work. I tried to redeem on the XBox page and it recognizes the code as a 12 month Live subscription, but once I hit redeem, it takes me to an error message.
I tried contacting Microsoft and they're stumped too. I went to their instant chat and the tech said he would e-mail me back personally with an answer. 2 days later nothing yet. They said my account is good and apparently the code is good too.
and these codes are non-refundable, so I don't think CDKeys will give me my money back. This sounds like a technical glitch of some sort on MS's end. I just don't know what to do.
and I tried redeeming it via the XBox One console and it looks like MS changed how that works now. It opens up the Edge Browser and I get the same error message from the computer.
Any thoughts? Could I possibly end up being out $46? Should I bug MS tech support again?

I contacted Microsoft support again today regarding my code issue and the error messages.
They were awesome. They just deactivated the bad code from CDKeys and issued me a new one that worked. Very pleased. Glad my money didn't go to waste.
The chat rep was fantastic.

Stupid question... and probably asked a million times in this thread, but this thread is kinda large to scour...
Which is better to buy, the Xbox play and charge kit or just buying Amazon Basics/Eneloop charger and batteries?
What are the pros/cons of both?

Envelop - much cheaper and more convenient. Just swap out your AA batteries when they run low. That’s a no-brainer

The play and charge kit is more convenient if you have a USB port/charger near you.
You can just plug in the controller and continue playing while it recharges.

+1 on the charge kit. Way too convenient to just dock the controller after playing. I used to be an eneloop champion but easy wins every time.

Just the interior, it just goes where the AA batteries would go.

What is this insanity where folks would rather pay $25 for a Charge & Play battery pack rather than $17.99 for four AA Enloop batteries and a charger so you could always have a new set ready to go (buying two more AA's and keeping them in the charger would allow for two controllers to always have fully charged batteries).
I'll leave it at that.
Heads-Up : Microsoft has started their Countdown to 2018 Sale. Tons of stuff on sale. Pretty much a total repeat of the Black Friday sale, but those were good prices then and they're back now for stuff you skipped. And there's a few new things for sale, I think.

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017
Thanks for the info guys.
In Canada, the eneloop is actually just a tiny more expensive than the charge kit.
I do like that with the charge kit I don't have to keep opening the battery cover on the controller, as it increases the chances of damaging it - or at least loosening it.
I'm only a casual gamer, so I don't need to always be ready to play - I don't have a problem with any "downtime".... although the USB cable really avoids that anyway.

Earthlock: Festival of Magic Relaunching in 2018
Snowcastle Games has announced that their charming JRPG Earthlock: Festival of Magic will be relaunched on Xbox One next year. Originally released in September 2016, Snowcastle agreed with some of the criticisms the game received, and decided to update it before working on Earthlock 2. They are internally referring to this as the "Should have been edition."
The new release, titled simply Earthlock, will be getting an updated story, expanded crafting system, new characters, better cutscenes and animations, new mini-games, side-quests, and more. The game will also not end after the final dungeon any longer, allowing you to continue playing and finish any side-quests or other tasks you may have. Due to the immense changes the game will undergo, Snowcastle could not keep the game compatible with existing save files, warranting the re-release.
Anyone who owns Earthlock: Festival of Magic will receive the new version for free - which should be just about everyone, seeing as it was part of the Games With Gold program - and since it will be a new game in your catalog, that means a new set of achievements. The achievement list will be largely the same, though apparently some achievements have been updated and some new ones will be added.
Earthlock will be released in Q1 2018. Check out the original version's trailer below.

I have enough BB credit/cash to pick up an Xbox One X. Any reason I should right now? There isn't much I'm interested in particularly right now until Crackdown 3 hits.

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017
Well, I kinda fell into an Xbox One X today. We were at Walmart picking up some stuff for New Years Eve, and they had a console that was a Christmas return that was heavily discounted ($124.75 off). So I figured for $374.25, I would take the plunge. Now I'm currently backing up my original on one TV and setting up the new one on the other. I have Shadow of War, so I guess I'll start with that to see if the upgrade was worth it. Hopefully Cuphead and PUBG run a little better as well. I also have to figure out how to get rid of my original XB1 too, hopefully I can sell it to someone at work.
