re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

A bunch of leaked info from some neogaf dude. No idea if it's legit or not:

Forza Horizon: "Fall 2014, probably September. Super sexy weather system and... shit tons of co-op/social stuff. 1080P and open-world, so you can road trip with your bros."

White Xbone incoming.

Halo Anniversary 2 will be 1080p, iffy on the 60fps, maybe not.

Quantum Break is Holiday 2014

Multiplayer confirmed for HA2, same devs as Halo Anniversary.

Sunset Overdrive is Fall 2014

Black Tusk cancelled project was called "Shangheist." May have involved stealing stuff from the Chinese (though I think that may have been a reference to the name and maybe not the gameplay? Not sure...)

Fable Legends is Summer 201

Halo 2 Anniversary includes beta for Halo 5

Gears of War will probably need a 2.5 year dev time.

First Titanfall DLC is 45 days from release, then another one 120 days from release.

No Crackdown 3 news this year most likely, since it's a 2016 title.

No info/idea on what Rare's up to, sadly

$399 XB1 this year? "Maybe one without an Optical Disc Drive."

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I figured Halo 2 anniversary would be a 360 game. Having 2 Halo games come out this year on one system seems a little odd, unless Halo 5 gets pushed to next year.

But, yeah, i could see most of that other stuff happening. Nothing seems too far fetched.

Oh, and I would rather have a One without the Kinect than without the disc drive for $399. A 500GB hard drive as an only option is going to fill up real fast.

I would buy the absolute crap out of a Halo 2 remake with multiplayer.

I thought that all the games were loaded in full to the hard drive even if you bought the disc? I'm more worried about being locked in to the Live Marketplace prices for all games.

If they go down that route, MS better be in talks with ISP's in increasing Data Caps!

You do still have to do that. But imagine the data usage and time it would take anytime you have to redownload and install

Oh, believe me, I would not consider a One without an optical drive, but the 500 GB HDD isn't the real issue (since support for external drives is supposedly coming).

Do external HDDs run on UBS power or are they powered with a standard power cord? Because outlets in my media closet are at quite a premium now.

All depends on the drives themselves. The USB 3.0 external HDD I have (a Seagate BackUp Plus 1TB) just uses the USB power and doesn't require an actual power cord or "dual USB" adapter like some other drives have.

Yeah, you can find drives that run only on USB. Usually they're advertised as pocket or travel models.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

Thanks. One more question : I asked in the DR3 thread and I'll ask again here. I'm getting terrible, huge graphical glitches in DR3. It seems to be related to where there should be lighting bloom (coming off lights or out looking into the sun). Instead I get big pixilated black blobs that can cover half or more of my screen. Never seen them before. Any idea what that is or how to fix it?
I'd take a screenshot if I could figure out how.

Looks like someone did a quick and dirty MS paint job on your game.

It certainly adds a degree of difficulty to the game when your character is totally obscured.

That sucks. I haven't fired up DR 3 since the update, so no help here.

The same "insider" who posted all of those facts also said Halo 5 is going to be a 2015 game, so who knows.

The Verge did independently verify some of those leaked facts, along with more info about the next system update:

Microsoft is preparing to release its first major Xbox One dashboard update in March. Sources familiar with the plans have revealed to The Verge that the update will focus on fixing a number of issues with the Xbox Live service on the console, alongside other system fixes. Party-chat problems and issues with the usability and placement of social features of Xbox Live will be improved with the update. The update timing was first revealed by a forum poster at NeoGAF, and The Verge has verified it separately.

The anonymous forum poster also claims Microsoft will release a white version of its Xbox One console in October alongside the launch of Sunset Overdrive. A 1TB version of the Xbox One is rumored for release a month later in November. The Verge can confirm Microsoft is indeed planning to release its white employee-only Xbox One this year. Other rumors shared by the anonymous forum poster include the possibility of an Xbox One without a Blu-ray drive, a Bluetooth adapter, and launch dates for the console worldwide. While it's unclear if a disc-less Xbox One will make it to market, The Verge can also confirm Microsoft has been testing versions of its console without a Blu-ray drive.

Microsoft is said to be releasing Xbox One in April in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Colombia, Chile, and Argentina. An October launch of Xbox One is also rumored to follow in China, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Greece, Portugal, Slovakia, Turkey, Saudia Arabia, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Israel, India, Indonesia, and Egypt.

We’ve reached out to Microsoft for comment on all the Xbox One rumors, and we’ll update you accordingly.
There was talk a while back that MS had considered making the One drive-less from the very beginning, so I can see that happening. Seems as though they were being sincere when they said a Kinect-less console is not an option.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

Well like others have said before, as soon as MS stops bundling in the Kinect is as soon as it's considered more of a novelty. They are going to keep pushing that damn thing as long as they can. Because they know if they offered a bundle without it, it's as good as dead and developers will no longer support it.

And we pretty much know that if Halo 2 Anniversary is coming out this year on One, then Halo 5 is getting delayed to next year. Which may work out good for them, since they should be able to get the next Gears installment out for 2016.

Kinect 2.0 is awesome I played that one game... err, uh and then when I login it umm, err. Fuck Kinect 2.0. I don't think it's recognized me more than 3 times since I got my systems at launch.

I'm having no problem with recognition, and mine sits pretty low (only about 2ft. off the floor) since I have a flat screen, and no other way to place it higher.
